A bit overrated: needs more speed and better collision detection. Very hard, but upgrade system keeps you playing. Music sucks. Fun enemy design hurdles you into a psychedelic nightmare of hostility. NOTE: 2 player VS. and co-operative available.
Ok, I'll admit, this game is hard as nails, but at the same time it's balanced, fun and addictive. Plus its sheer variety of ships and powerups keeps you from playing it the same way twice! (My favourite ships are Aether Squid and Prong.)
Cool retro graphics and good sound effects. The game is highly polished and comes with a very nice highscores list. Above all, the gameplay is excellent (although I would have liked to be able to slide by default).
Very very nice! Really like the feel of the game, different to most games out now. I think the ship is a little too slow and weak at the beginning, but this game is very good! Well done.
Cute game! Compiling it for windows was a bit tricky, as miran pointed out. The source was pretty clean, however, so it was easy to find the things that needed changing. As Max would say: I enjoyed the cheesy retro-ambiance! ;)
Whoah, this game is really close to awesome. Compiling it for Windows was a royal pain in the arse but it was well worth it. Gfx, sounds and music are all great (very retro!) and the game has high replay value. Definately a keeper... Other ProjectsIf you like Lacewing, maybe you'll want to check out some of these:
