The "> " is "markdown", which was added the same time ML updated the markup system from BBCode to XHTML. There are links to the relevant announcement thread(s) in my signature.

I go with "sequel". >:(

You're all wrong. GUI stands for Graphical User Interface, therefore it should be G.U.I. SQL stands for Structured Query Language, hence it should be S.Q.L. Who wants to program a gooey? Or program in Sequel? However, I do pronounce IRC as irk, so maybe exceptions are called for. :/

So then do you pronounce "EAGLE GUI" as "E.A.G.L.E G.U.I"?

IRC is one that I pronounce I.R.C., but I think the majority of people do... Or maybe because I only ever discuss it in text it's ambiguous...

If somebody spoke a sentence to me while pronouncing IRC as "urk" I'd probably have no fucking idea what they just said.

Talking about GUI I recently tested Nuklear, the " single-header ANSI C gui library"

There is an allegro5 port, a DX port, OpenGL, whatever.

There -> https://github.com/vurtun/nuklear

Pic from the demo I had no problem to compile with allegro5:
{"name":"610806","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/3\/8\/3819f6309cd98ed9ab6eb5915dde29ff.png","w":1920,"h":1080,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/3\/8\/3819f6309cd98ed9ab6eb5915dde29ff"}610806

Edit: The author made a post here, without any success. A pity IHMO

I remember that. The good-looking GUI left an impression.

That's one nice screenshot! I love seeing indie productivity, since it reminds me of my younger, freer self :)

Antsy or A.N.S.I.?

Programming should be fun. That's why I hate C and C++.

Edgar's not an acronym, slick. ;)

Sure it is! It stands for "Extremely Depressed Gay Anthropomorphic Rhino"! ;D

My son's name is Edgar. Remember what you said about that name. I will.

You misunderstood; that acronym is only reserved for Edgar Reynaldo. Your Edgar has this meaning:

Endangered Devilish Grass-Annihilating Responsibility

You're probably joking, but officially pronouncing acronyms as though they spell actual words is pretty common. For instance, people don't say "dee ay are pee ay" -- nobody has time for that. They just say "darpa".

The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face.

U.R.L. or "Earl"?

There's only one person I know who says the latter and it absolutely drives me crazy.

How about A.L.L.E.G.R.O.?

Didn't it originally stand for Atari Low-Level Game Routines?

It was the case at the start:
"Initially standing for Atari Low-Level Game Routines,[6]", from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegro_(software)#History
