A single group can hold up to 256 people at a time. With the creator the first admin. He can add people manually by phone numbers and also allow some sort of self-service addition to the group by use of a Group URL. Anyone with this URL can add herself to the chat.

IRC is the future! ... though I would also like a libre Skype replacement. Apparently, the FSF has agreed for a decade or so WhatsApp is proprietary and, while I'm sure it's very good, is simply not an option I am willing to consider. Edit: Linphone shows great promise (and I am always on the lookout for more "catastrophic" software). |
