Felix: the game was called Fez, sadly enough the video X-G (I presume it was him) posted here a while ago is down. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

I didn't think they meant Fez, because there is no change in physics. Fez can be found here. I am hanging out for the game, it looks fantastic. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ |

Does it use Allegro? Edit: I agree that it looks really cool. I'm surprised someone didn't patent the idea of a game like that... __________________________________________________ |

The camera is stiff and seems to be uncontrollable, making it look rather bad in my eye. The flat sprites clash with the 3D background. I am not really sure what the innovation is here, there have been 3D platformers before... Crash Bandicoot alternated between perspectives in a similar fashion, and it used it to enhance gameplay. In this demonstration this just looked like a gimmick however. The co-op segment was cool however. Leave that part in, and trash the 3D aspect. I've had a couple ideas like this. So long as it plays well, that's the most important part. --- Kris Asick (Gemini) |

Looks like it is a Super Mario Paper clone ^^ "Code is like shit - it only smells if it is not yours" |

I tried Paper Mario (Wii version) and the "2.5" view was so annoying I put it down after 15 minutes and never returned. This Mega Man video looks just as lame. |

He can always get some artists to whip up some characters and levels, change it from Mega Man to Uber Man.

This way he draws attention based on the name, and can change it later if he wants to. A cease and desist letter would probably help him, as it will bring even more attention to his game.

Or it would hurt him in the long run if he becomes a very successful game designer earning lots of money, as it will taint his past and maybe open up for a real suit (to get a part of his money). Especially since he's using his real name. ___________________________________ piccolo: "soon all new 2d alegro games will be better. after i finsh my MMRPG. my game will serve as a code reference. so you can understand and grab code from." |

You can't sue way after the fact like that. Maybe if he makes another MegaMan game In order to keep your copyrights you have to actively protect them ASAP. If he doesn't get sued (or at least if no c&d letter is sent out), the people owning the copyright loose it for all intents and purposes. That means they have to do it now, not later. -- |
