wow :o your an old one I never knew we had old school programmers in allegro. I thought the age range was 45-16 ;D. ahh I read stories about the old days, when all women where the definition of kindness.

LennyLen you need to give us some more old school knowledge on the subject.

Once I grew up, I stopped manipulating people*. It just wasn't satisfying any more.

* except for in the workplace, where I just have to sometimes

??? it almost sound like you use to manipulate people for "fun".:-/ thats not a good reason to manipulate people. your suppose to manipulate people to reach some kind of gold not to get a "high" off it. No wonder in was not satisfying, "high" tend to need more and more of the stimulant to keep reaching the "high" state. manipulate people takes a lot of time, so if your doing it get "high" after awhile the time that is needed to get "high" is not worth it any more.

Yes, I did, which is immature I know, but I stopped when I started to grow up.

Quote:

There is no supposed to. Sorry, but that's just ludicrous.

I wasn't being serious when I said it no longer satisfied (was that not obvious? I thought it was). In reality, I decided that being manipulative for any reason other than self defence was about as low as you could be, so I just stopped. Mostly because if you do it too much, you lose sight of your own identity. You just become whoever you need to be to win over the situation. Maybe you want to live your life that way, but it started to make me feel sick, and despicable.

I never found that to be the case. Peoiple just seem to trust me for some reason and think I'm extremely innocent. That used to make it very easy for me to abuse their trust in me.

Friendships between women don't mutually work for a number of reasons... One is because they see themselves as different: they see men as enemies and don't think we can understand their problems, etc., etc. and they're raised to be anti-male.

I have been friends with quite a few women and quite honestly I prefer girl friends to guy friends. Guy friends are great if they're actually willing to stand up for you, take a bullet for you, etc., but most won't; especially when it comes down to competition (ESPECIALLY when that competition involves a girl).

With men it's always competition and women always pit you against each other for their own benefit. When you're friends with women though you have different wants for the most part and don't end up competing.

The downside to female friends is that if you get interested in her you're playing with a knife at your heart. What's more, if guys she's interested in see you as competition it also complicates things, etc... And often women just don't fully see guys as friends... Again, they see their problems as different and something that guys can't understand.

If you have something to say; say it. Don't be a bitch about it.

Either explain in what regard or save your keystrokes. There was nothing stupid about it.

Well, either LennyLen thinks the word "between" should have been "with" and is being really anal about it, or he thinks the whole statement is untrue ...

People vary. There are girls who will just be nice and trust guys like me and so on. There are also girls that won't. As long as nice people give other nice people a chance, without being untrusting by default, then life won't be too bad :)

Generalizing all women in one statement is, at the least, stupid.

I'm a rather open individual. If a friend asks me a question they can usually expect an honest answer. It depends on my expectations for how they, or others, would react to the truth. Sometimes the truth can get lost in your subconscious as well.

I've had friends open up, but never really fully. By that I mean that I knew there were questions that I simply couldn't expect to get an honest answer to; even though I knew that I would try to be conscious of my reaction. I'd be willing to bet it's similar for you, Bruce.

It's exhausting having to always specify that it's a generalization. I've said it before: nothing is black and white. I agree, it's stupid to generalize like that. However, until I meet a girl or guy that contradict the above I'll stand by it (acknowledging that it's not true for everyone).

I am constantly reviewing my opinions and "generalizations", theories, etc. That one has proven accurate in the past few years so that is where my mind is at right now. Please, offer your own experiences.

So anyone you've never met doesn't exist?

None of my girlfriends, or friends who are females see men as enemies. And I've only come across a couple of women who actually were raised to be anti-male. None of them followed their upbringing though.

I've always wanted to know. Why did bamccaig always bold "she" in his previous posts? What does the kid have against that pronoun?:(:o:(:o:(:o:(:o

Who you calling kid? :P

I have nothing against 'she' or 'her'. I bolded/italicized them because it was poor English to use only she and her, but by avoiding using her name I was pretty much forced to do so. Besides, with regard to other she's and her's, bolding/italicizing those that referred to the girl I was writing about make it clear which ones refer to the main girl of the post verses others that were mentioned.

I wrote the majority of the first post without the emphasis, but during proof reading and revision I realized it was somewhat difficult to follow some parts. Rather than using names I decided to emphasis Her and She to make it more clear. From then on it just seemed best to keep doing it in other posts (and now this other thread) to keep it obvious to those that read the previous post which Her or She I was referring to.

The short answer would be emphasis. ::)

I relate well with xkcd comics ;D

Respectfully I must say piccolo is wrong this time. You don't want other girls to think you are available to be their cuddle biatches.

OK ill explane. This applys for a guy or girl. When you have some one calling constantly on time it makes you feel a way. Whether or not they are nagging you is not important.
The feeling you get can empower you. You can use this sense of empowerment to confidently talk with other people.

But if you don't make sure your social life is active, when and if they stop calling you; the sense of empowerment goes away and is replaced with something else that is not good for you social heath. You end-up missing the calls that were needed to empower you.

edit: currently my ex is trying this same thing on me. At first she would call very frequently at the same time every day then she reduce the number of calls. Then the other day she uses a new method.

She logged onto yahoo massager to check to see if I was at my computer then she signed off then called me. I did not get to answer it because I head ear-phones on and the phone just beeped. I returned the miss call she did not answer after 3 (2 1/2) rings then i hung-up the phone. She then called back as if was the first one to call her.

I told her I called her to return the miss call I saw on my phone. Then she said "o I made a miss take and dialed your number." I said "I C" then she said " o well I will talk to you latter"

That is good stuff on her part but, I am a watcher so that dose dose not work on me as well. OK Ill re phase. It dose work on me but as a watcher I have a stronger will so I can fight it.
however I do aways have my phone with me even in the bath room and stuff to make sure all calls get to me. But I think I used to do that before this "mess" with my. ex.

do you understand ? fixed
