Ok, ok, don't get into flamewar. Maybe it was stereotyping. Fine, but it's possible solution, isn't it? Oh and I'm not saying that they're all the same.

nothing wrong with stereotyping if its done right with lots of data.stereotyping is ugly most of the time true. but make you stereotype is narrow and sported by a lots of things not just one.
example is i was from Italy base on the things i say i eat, if i said before that i love football(soccer for you usa people). if i sound like a tv mafia member every time you read my post, if im always talking about my family. if i get a fended quickly about things said about my family. if when i talk about my family i talk about large a one,eg. uncle anty grand parent . then you could probably make a guess that im from Italy.

Note: THERE ARE ALL WAYS PEOPLE THAT BREAK STEREOTYPES SO THEY ARE NOT PERFECT. (same as any theory.)
but nope im not from italy.

edit:

I've noticed a pattern with this guy and other friends of his who have the same problem: they think their lives are like an anime or something. AFAIK, anime often features males who are shy, socially inept, emo, aloof, rude and/or rather girly. In those fantasy worlds, such males attract the 99.9% of the women; every girl is secretly in love with them, but don't want them to realize it and therefore treat them like dirt.

you have to remember that there are many type of anime. that what you talked about is only one genre.
you need more meat. narrow it down and link it to how much of that genre of anime they watch.

its good though i have seen girls like this as well.

In drama comedy animes, when the main female gets mad at the main males they chase them with large hammer objects or books. i wonder if they did it because the new guys new it was an anime reference or would they do it to a guy that dose not know anything about anime as well.

Seriously, man, what do you think we are going to do if we know where do you come from ? hmmm ?

I am French, all people there have already said that I do not have a good English and blah and blah and blah. And SO ? Do you think they are going to come here and hurt me if I am mad with them ? No, they are better to come asking for beer, man !

Funny I recall reading it some time ago in your profile. Oh and that my note was meant in a way that Italians (most of them, not all of them) are known to go after women and have lot of them. Ok sorry maybe misjudging.

This means we are charming, not manipulative, as you seem to think :P

In regards to Rampage's theory of anime fans and initiating relationships; There may be some truth to it, but neither my friends (also anime fans) or I equate anything in (most) anime to real life.

Edit:
I think it has to do with how impressionable the person watching the anime is.

FMC: I don't say otherwise ;) But I think that this is completely usesless since we still don't know where piccolo came from (I don't dare to discover that he's in fact spam-bot ::) ) Oh besides I think I'll have one beer as tribute to you ;)

Samuel: yeah, smart man. But not all people are so smart. There are lot's of romantic lunatics who think otherwise, shame on them.

I don't agree that people are confusing anime with real life. In most cases it's probably just a fantasy that is applied to reality because the social skills to actually face reality are missing. The void is filled with hopes and dreams.

There are a lot of people who don't know the boundaries between what they see on television and real life. Luckily, this mostly this doesn't effect anyone but themselves. The problem comes with the ones who try imitating violence they see and then get watchdog groups up in arms trying to get shows taken off the air.

I wonder how many Hulk Hogan wannabes end up in hospital every year.

In terms of anime you can easily see that the characters don't look the same as real life and numerous physical abilities are unrealistic of real life. To apply the rest without something real world to back it up is illogical and unlikely. Young children might not fully comprehend the difference, but anybody above 12 with half their brain cells alive and well should be able to manage.

Blaming media is really just an excuse. Like the kids that shoot up a school and blame TV or video games. It's really just passing blame off on something else and because the majority of people don't understand people they are unable to ignore it and have to consider it. Instead of actually doing time consuming and expensive analysis it is quicker to just point fingers, especially for the average parent that doesn't understand high school math. It's also easier to blame a video game than to accept responsibility for their children.

I don't know about you, but if the cops ever get me on something worth time I'm claiming insanity. :P

We're not talking about logical people obviously. ::)

Yeah, I guess you're right... I was looking at it from a defend media (tv; anime) perspective, but I guess we were never really blaming them... Only pointing out idiocy. :)

I wonder what happened in the coutry far far away, where Miran lives. He's not responded still with up to date news from the field. I wonder what's happening there. Which leads me to a question in correlation with thread title, that we haven't heard from DeathWish, except his broken down car. I wonder how it went with his latest "project" :)
