Or maybe they made a really horrible movie based on this novel which again made me lose all memory of it.

Several bad movies based on it, in fact.

It's a little unusual that she is so close to you and not with her other girl friends? Maybe she sees you as a kind of big sister?

But I was being serious! Women normally talk to their girlfriends about this before men. Unless she sees you as a soulmate? :)

I agree with Richard and Manjula. She either sees you as her big sister or her cuddle biatch. Either way, you gain nothing from this relationship. Doesn't it suck to have such an emotional idiotic friend? I'd find that kinda draining. I'm a chick and even I wouldn't be able to handle all that whining.

What exactly are the benefits of keeping her as a friend?

It makes me feel better about myself when I'm around people who have it worse than me. I sit there and listen to their problems and inside I'm thinking: "Thank god I'm not you." :-X

Was that a good answer?

Doesn't friendship itself count for anything? Since when have relations with friends been so utilitarian? :-/

No, friendship is a two way street. You will find that you will eventually get annoyed and tired once you realize that you are always giving but not receiving. It's a natural reaction, and there is nothing utilitarian about it.

Anyway, this is obviously becoming too much drama for Miran to handle.

no!
you have good friends and you have bad friends. good friends help each other to make it in life. bad friends pull each other down or one pulls the other down.

I've been saying this for weeks now. :)

Just for the record, you've only heard one side of the deal in my posts.

tell the girl your vision is kinda funny in your left eye. you see red spots and stuff similar to that. and hint to her that you think your going blind in the eye you got hurt in at the football game. hit to her that you should probably go to the doctor then tell her you hate doctors and stuff. a good friend would encourage you to get it checked out at the hospital. this wont work if she knows you got it checked out already.

my guess is she pay you a little bit of attention then go back to her problems. or she will say "she going to call you back"

Good idea. I have football again next wednesday. I'm gonna talk to her then, when I get injured again. :)

Yep, I've had some female friends like that who are very selfish and never did anything in return and didn't ever want to know what was going on in my life. I'm not close to them now.. :)

Hmmm, you seem to appreciate her friendship for some reason, hopefully it's not just "because her sucky life makes me feel better." If we were a computer and given what you have mentioned above, the comments of Leverton, wearetheborg, manjula, piccolo, etc. are very acceptable output. Maybe she's a better friend than your letting on, maybe not.

In highschool, I had a few friends who were kind of like this. They'd talk to me to get mutual advice (never follow it) and rely on my shoulder to cry on afterwards. I was always a dependable source, since I could keep a secret and say things that made them feel better. But, they did invite me to hang around and seemed happy by my presence, which was comforting to me. In the end, we all got separated at the college stage and I'll admit, I miss some of those friendships today.

I still have one "friend that is a girl" (to be politically correct, I suppose), where I email her once or twice a year about what's going on in my life (she emails me back as well). We've always been friends and I've always appreciated that.

Ewwwww a geeeeehrl :o Don't go near her, you'll get cooties :o

Incidentally - I will never complain about girls again. They're so easy to deal with, you know - compared to COMPUTERS :o

Not computers fundamentally, just modern computers with the amount of frustratingly bad software around. Transferring my contacts from my old phone to my new phone through my computer was not an experience I would like to repeat. :-X

LennyLen :o has upgrade his way of thinking. he now understands whats going on as well.

miran remember it is a 2 bladed knife if the stimulation goes away and you don't have a nice bizzy soicle life the affects can be really bad. (like what i said earlier about the phone calling trick.) work quick but by the looks of it i don't think your stimulation will be going any where to soon.
