Oscuro = dark/shadowy. Though I doubt he thinks of himself as that.

Steve, in response to Matthew sending nickers to his beloved family-in-law, said:

He didn't send me one :'(

You want one? :o

Do you also hit your girlfriend as a token of affection?

Evert I hope you realize that I was joking :-X

Yves has been banned at least twice that I know of, most likely more than that.

Apparently he was too off-topic for Off-Topic Ordeals. The moderators just want us to post links to old news items.

Tomorrow you will regret having told her how you feel. That's just the way women are. Even if she already likes you a bit, if you tell her straight up how much you like her, you will come off desperate and she'll like you less. It's sad that people are like that, but you can't fool yourself that good and honest intentions will ultimately get you the girl of your dreams. Unfortunately it's all a bit of a game.

You sure?

There are some rare exceptions of course. Phipps shouldn't count on it though.

Yeah, but he's been unbanned quite often too... and he's had his moments of inactivity as well. I guess I hadn't realized he might be banned again.
Maybe Matthew could adjust the board so that he's automatically banned/unbanned every other month.

He posted about religion?

Well, being desperate is a turnoff for all girls I have ever spoken to. They want to feel special, and a guy who'se desperate and tries to get each and every girl he sees obviously doesn't do that.
However, you don't have to come across as being desperate and if you don't, all girls I know enjoy attention and affection, even if they don't return the feeling they still think its sweet.
It can make a friendship more complicated though.

It is possible to be desperately obsessed with the one girl. That's what I was talking about.

That's the problem - you risk becoming a "sweety". Give a girl attention and her feeling of self-worth increases - she becomes even more out of your league. Brush her off when she says hello and you'll be stuck in her head for the rest of the day. Of course, this behaviour goes completely against the nature of the "nice guy".

What's wrong with being desperately obsessed with one girl? >:[

For one thing, unsustainably high levels of dopamine followed by depression.

I never said I was in love with this women. Or that I was obsessing over her. I've done the 'not telling someone' thing before and it's just a slower drawn out form of pain. :)

I fully expect that she either has someone already, or that she doesn't find me attractive. But by sending a card I qm not only trying to make her feel happier tomorrow, but also tryint to eliminate the question of how does she feel? altoghether.

Well, you've got more guts than me. :)

I don't see the humor in that. I don't believe in any sort of holiday much less do I personally like "mushy" romantic things. I am a very practical person and these sort of things are very impractical and useless.

I've been burned so many times trying to do romantic stuff for girls it's downright embarrassing. Valentines day or not. If I ever find myself in a relationship again the unlucky girl will get no romance from me. It's a waste of time (and money... oh the money) and they don't even like it (as my experience has taught me).

I'm not that confident when it comes to women, but I'm tired of not saying anything to a woman I like. Maybe tomorrow I'll come in here really down and you'll know why. :)

Although valentines day is over-commercialized, it is a nice reminder to appreciate the relationship. It's not useless or impractical by any means.

In any case, I'm going to get my teeth yanked on valentines day. WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

It wasn't intended as humour. I know people who beat the crap out of each other out of affection. It's called SM.
I just find it somewhat amazing that you can have a loving relationship without the need for mushy fluffy things...

I do agree that valentine's day is (or has become) a commercially hyped event though, one I wouldn't really take part in. If I'd feel like doing something for the occasion, I'd do it a week in advance or a few days after.
