Who else is going to also crash and burn on Monday?

Just put aside the valentine's day stuff for a minute. It's a time to say how you feel to someone you like. While any day will do, valentine's day is a convienient excuse. :)

Surely you must have done it at least once? Everyone has...

I was extremely shy (actually, more along the lines of Social Anxiety Disorder) back-in-the-day. Currently, there is no one I would want to date that isn't already taken.

Love doesn't require the mushy fluffy things, you just need to know you're at least wanted a little.

Exactly, any day will do so there is no point in setting aside a special day for everyone to do it. Besides, it's better if you do something by surprise as opposed to a day when she/he will know you're doing it.

You mean the alternative to crack cocaine? No thank you. Once you pop, you just can't stop. ;) And I don't have the time to be obsessing about that (as college is coming up).

Seems like I'm the only one who sent a valentine's day card then. :)

I crashed and burned last night... Found the cute girl, along with her boyfriend... I ordered a beer and caused hangover through heavy partying.

I may yet send some friendly greatings or `thinking of you' messages to some girls I know... but without any intention of broadcasting romantic intent. So I probably won't for fear that someone misunderstands the message.

Who gives flowers anyway? Real men give women potatoes. Think about it; a flower is a pretty, but practically useless thing. It will wilt in a few days and then you throw it out. In other words, giving flowers is like saying "I like you on a superficial level, and when you grow old and ugly I'll leave you". Now, a potato, a potato is awesome. They don't look like much, but the inside counts like mad. You can boil em, mash em, stick em in a stew... and they never bite it. Leave them around and they just sprout wiggly things and eventually new potatoes. Giving away a potato is like saying, "I love you in more than one way, for your inner qualities and our love will never die."

Yes...
you might want to explain that to the girl in question though. I have a faint feeling that she might misunderstand otherwise if you give her a sack of potatoes instead of flowers.

Heheh X-G that is an awsome idea... potatoes mean love forever, I mean those things never rot or anything, you stick em somewhere and forget, a few months later it's still there but in a better state, I mean it's got roots and everything. Stick em in water and watch em grow... and they even sprout flowers if you nurture them enough. Once they outgrow the container stick em in the dirt and months later you got baby potatoes which in turn can be given to someone else or eaten. I'd like to see a boquet of flowers do that :).

Did you get that from Bash, X-G? Or was it somewhere else first?

Let's see. I went to the Valentine's day dance with someone (same girl as all the dances). I sent her a carnation and a card. And I am spending tomorrow on a field trip to our local theater for a play. It just happens this same girl is in the class I am going on the field trip in. (My drama class, only 8 people in the class so the single class can take a trip by itself.)

X-G, the most clever thing i've seem in this thread.
But love is not practice. In fact, falling in love is accepting infernal terms. And one of those terms are the useless and "logic-less" things.

Give presents is a good practice because the receiver will know that he is important for you. In theory no matter what you give.
What i don't understand, as X-G, why a girl should be angry if you give her potatoes,a very tasty food, and grateful if you give her flowers? They die, smell when are dead, are hindrances, and attract flies.;D

Of course i never give to a girl potatoes, i know the implicit rules. But, why they exists?

And, another part of the story: the patented and genuine unknown girl's angers; and The also patented "what are you thinking now?" phrases.

I never have any girlfriend. I only loved one girl in my life and Of course, as you can see, my experience was not quite good :). I wasted time of my life loving. Don't fall in the same error. I'm not saying you shouldn't have girlfriends, I'm saying that you shouldn't fall in pussiness like St. valentine and other nonsenses, because now or later she look down on you in one or many aspects, and you'll become a slave.

Be free.

Yesterday my pop tasted like blood. I wasnt bleeding or anything, but im sure it was something from in the can. The sucky thing is that the can was opaque so you couldnt really tell what was actually in there.

I promptly dumped it out. :P

I don't plan on doing anything....ever. Smc knows this, I have told her I don't believe in this stuff and I just don't care. She likes to rub it in constantly saying I don't care 8-).
