Author's Description: FunKam StopMotion is an application for creating stop motion animations using a webcam. You take shots with the webcam and save them as consecutive frames. You can view 5 frames in an animated sequence, which helps you judge the last frame.

FunKam SpeedUp (on same project page, 0% done) is for speeding up slow processes in animation, like growing chrystals or flowers.

FunKam MoveDetect works as a guarding camera. Set up your webcam, adjust the sensitivity and the camera will record frames that show movement.

Um, not sure about the version numbers. Anyway, on the web page there's a link to a version of the stop motion app with a cool chroma key like thing. The app compares each shot of an animation object with a shot of the background without objects, to find out what is object and what is background. Then it replaces the background with any desired background image.

  • 8Just played with FunKam for a couple of minutes, but that idea of making a lego stop motion kung-fu flick is in my head again :) A cool feature to add to later version of this programs might be a green/ blue screen mode. It's amazing what ideas can be spawned by such a seemingly simple tool. If you have a web cam, give this a try :)
