SeeR is a free multipurpose C-like scripting library. Although it seems to not have been updated for several years, it still should be useful.

From the website:

"The idea was to make a script engine for any purpose you would need. This can be for AI in the game, for macros in an editor or whatever. This is for things you cannot (or don't want to) have compiled (hard-coded) inside your program. The idea was to make it easy to learn, and though it's a C library, SeeR is (or will be) an almost complete C (or even C++) compiler."
