Done so far

Some terraform abilities (Creating caves, and new areas)
Some building abilities (Player Houses, Forge)
Party System (Up to 3 people can group together, think DW3)
Chat System
Very basics of the battle system (Can initiate battle, and then run from some Slimes)
Inventory System (Just need more content)
Equipment System (Just need more content)
You can forge new equipment (Needs Content)
Dynamic Mapping system (Just need more content)
Hair Styles (Can modify RGB too, just needs content)
Player Sex, and skin tone (Just need more content)

Thats about 2 months of work, me thinks.
Still a long road ahead, though.

I totally misinterpreted "player sex" -- I was like "woah what kind of game is this?"

I like games that let you build in-game. Keep at it.

Is this still in development or not? if so what about being open source? would love to see the code as im learning something very similar to this and it would help me learn allegro

Actually I had a problem with my laptop and was on a hiatus.
Thank god for Google Drive!

I plan on setting up my IDE and getting back in development before the end of the month.
If there are too many more hang ups I may consider releasing the source code or making it an open source project.
