IOTD: CONKA!
CONKA!
CONKA!, by Nial Giacomelli

What is Conka!?

CONKA! is a multiplayer turn-based strategy game designed for up to four-players to compete against each other over either the Internet or a LAN connection. In our eyes, CONKA! takes the best aspects of other strategy games and tries to boil them down into a simple form. A stream-lined gaming experience that is fun and easy to get the hang of, but difficult to master.

In CONKA! each player represents a Wizard. A magical entity capable of casting some rather magnificant magic. These spells are capable of conjuring creatures, erecting structures, and can also be used to manipulate non-magical artifacts. The problem, as we all know, with giving a set of Wizards this much power, is that with power comes the desire for more power. Consumed by greed, it is your mission to demolish the remaining Wizards and sap them of their mana energy so that you may rule supreme!

What about the screenshot?

In the screenshot we see that the RED wizard has been trying to stop the approaching GREEN wizard by building a barricade wall. However, he has run out of time and the GREEN wizard has managed to pass through the un-barricaded area. There's a confrontation that's about to kick-up between a few GRUNTS and ARCHERs.

Also note the funky looking RED monster. He's called a False Idol and is used to quickly level up troops when the promise of battle closes in.
