Welcome to Travel, the MMO. This is a massively multiplayer online game. When played, you must make an account. Your account will be saved online automatically. The world is shared, and infinite. There are resources to be mined and cities to service. The goal? Become the richest man in the land. Its harder than it looks. After viewing these screenshots, read the instructions below. {"name":"599016","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/d\/d\/ddabd06f9f6e2488b7df8d191bfb3567.png","w":657,"h":516,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/d\/d\/ddabd06f9f6e2488b7df8d191bfb3567"} Step one Now, to business Steel for the people! Once you can afford it, find a mineral deposit and build an ore mine. With a mine and a steel mill you can harvest your own steel for free! And, you can sell the steel for cash. Trains need oil... As quick as you can, find an oil deposit and build a oil well. With a well and a refinery you can harvest your own oil for free! And, you can sell the oil for cash. Place tracks, buildings! Move around... Control trains Update:

Guy. I don't understand how to play your game. How many does costs something? How can I know that it is oil, steel or money that I need, if I don't know the pricings? You said "build an oil mill". Which of the icons are an oil mill? Which of the icons is what? From the top right going down: Oil well, Oil refinery, Ore mine, Steel mill, Track, Train, Delete Nothing costs more than 1000 dollars. Steel costs range from 10 (track) to 900 (steel mill). Most cost 200 - 500 steel. Place oil well on a tile with black oil marks on it. Place ore mines on a tile with shiny metal blocks. |

I have an extremely terrible connection to the server. I'd place a building, and it would take about two seconds to appear.

My connection seems pretty good. The game has crashed a couple of times in the last 10 minutes though. ================================================= |

It's a bit glitchy, but the concept is fun. Automating train jobs would make the game much better, I think.

I think I remember a thread about this game. It sounds pretty cool, especially for a SH entry, but I can't try it out until I get home. ** EDIT ** I'm sure you're aware, but the Web site is currently an Apache 2 test page. -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion? Sure, linux is no problem. It just needs a makefile fix and some small code fixes (compiler errors). |

Nice. Yeah, all I needed to do to compile in Linux was move the -lwsock32 options to the WINDOWS section of the makefile and add a missing ')' on line 40 or something in src/mutex.cpp. -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion? I launched the game and my oil rapidly dropped to 0 for no apparent reason (I hadn't built anything yet). |

Constructive criticism:
** EDIT ** Yeah, it's also pretty glitchy. It doesn't identify trains, tracks, and buildings properly and it becomes frustrating trying to communicate with the game. I like the concept though. It would be even better if an entire town were developed, whereby each user could choose which role(s) they want to take, and set up those producers/services; preferably each depending on each other with competitive prices. -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion? BAF said: I launched the game and my oil rapidly dropped to 0 for no apparent reason (I hadn't built anything yet). That's a particularly nasty bug I caught after submission. I rushed to finish that code in 30 minutes (at about 4am). unit.cpp:292 is currently: if(destReached) { But it should be: if(destReached && user_id == gameState.user_id) {
And, sock.sendPacket("12 1"); But it should be: if(user_id == gameState.user_id) sock.sendPacket("12 1"); Whats happening is when other peoples' trains move, your oil is used up. Also when other people get oil, steel and money from trains you get it too. |

The game is ruined! \o/ Does that mean all the time I thought I was driving on no oil I was actually burning BAF's oil? -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion? When I first created an account I made one with Samuel Henderson, but for some reason it started me out with $0, 0 ore and 0 oil. So I took out a loan before reading the thread here in the depot. Once I realized that something was wrong and I should have started with money I created a new account called 'SamH'. This one was much easier to get working. And no, I didn't hack the game to give myself millions of dollars ================================================= |

I don't think I started out with money... Samuel Henderson said: Once I realized that something was wrong and I should have started with money I created a new account called 'SamH'.
The authorities should so transfer Samuel's debt over to SamH. -- acc.js | al4anim - Allegro 4 Animation library | Allegro 5 VS/NuGet Guide | Allegro.cc Mockup | Allegro.cc <code> Tag | Allegro 4 Timer Example (w/ Semaphores) | Allegro 5 "Winpkg" (MSVC readme) | Bambot | Blog | C++ STL Container Flowchart | Castopulence Software | Check Return Values | Derail? | Is This A Discussion?
