And one should never use some label as an excuse for any negative actions. If your disorder is "causing" you to do bad things, then you should check yourself in somewhere. This reminds me of a comment on how a plea of insanity for murder implies that murder may very well have been the sane thing to do. __________________________________ |

I forgot I downloaded some sort of personality test based on selecting favorite colors a couple of months ago, I took it and it seemed very accurate (describing me) and since it wasn't very complimentary, I worried about it for a couple of hours. Then I had the idea of choosing the colors in order, by rows, then by columns. It still "seemed" accurate and derogatory. This sort of thing is called "Medical students disease". They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas. |

Quote: "Personality disorders" often have no known traceable cause. The only way you are diagnosed with one is to be observed by a professional. Thus taking a well constructed test (I'm not suggesting that this one is) could be fairly accurate. You should never trust a questionaire. Just because you think or do things one way doesn't mean you have a disorder. Unless of course you wish to join scientology who will give you a test and sell you a book in 5 minutes But just to show how bad these tests are, my son has been recently diagnosed with ASD (they don't put specific tags on them in this country, e.g. aspergers, etc), simply he is very mild with specific difficulties such as interpreting idioms/metaphors/etc and socialising (but don't we all). It has taken the professionals (I'm talking 10+ experts, including a paediatritian, psychologist, speech therapists, occuational therapist) about 6 years to decide this, so 20 questions is hardly going to help anyone Neil. wii:0356-1384-6687-2022, kart:3308-4806-6002. What is "borderline" anyway? I thought it was used in conjunction with another disorder, such as "borderline schizophrenic", meaning a person who was dangerously close to schizophrenia. By reading this sig, I, the reader, agree to render my soul to Bob Keane. I, the reader, understand this is a legally binding contract and freely render my soul. |

Quote: You should never trust a questionaire. Just because you think or do things one way doesn't mean you have a disorder. Of course. That's what I said. A good test might help you judge your symptoms relative to other people who take that test. And no, that doesn't prove any cause, but unless you're looking for some sort of "explanation" for your actions it doesn't really matter. I'm not so sure how much I even believe in the usefulness of general labels determined by observation anyway. I think if ten experts analyzed any of us for six years, they'd end up with enough dirt to label us as something. |

Everyone has something its just a matter of severity. A disorder is really just dis order. Its all really just the normal parts over or under performing. Wether or not it effects you or others in a bad way determines the actual problem if there is one. -- |

You know, I actually don't consider myself all that great. But sometimes, when I go past a mirror, I just get that feeling and say "Man, you look good. You're the man!". Its rare, but it happens. In capitalist America bank robs you. |

I can't really tell. For my career strategies class, we had to take this test. It's a short little test with a bunch of yes/no questions and at the end gives you one of 16 personality types from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. For example, my personality type was INFP (the same as Shakespears and Anne of Green Gables The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face. |

I got to around 100 when I looked at the date on the bottom of the page. Not funny! Quote: The MBTI is much like a horoscope.
Yeah, I can see that. It's hard to imagine that they could break down every personality type into 16 categories. But still, my type described me pretty well. I guess that means I'm a stereotype. The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face. |

Quote: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator I'm INTP. Quote: The MBTI is much like a horoscope. All this stuff is. It just highlights single aspects that are present in everybody. It's entertaining though. I got a 13. 18 is average male, 32+ is Asperger's. --- |
