You know, including any residential taxes?

About 35%, but my income is low. I spend more on food than I do on accommodations.

17% of my after tax income is spent on housing. 10% before taxes. I rent, don't own.

I spend approximately per month: $550 on rent and utilities, $120 on food, $50 on cable Internet/TV, $25 on gas (for my car), and $5 on my Skype phone. I cannot really give a percentage since my monthly income is often nothing.

Rent: $595, Water: $30, Electric: $150-175, Cable Tv/Internet: $99, Food: a lot (???), Car payments: $200, Cell Phones: $100, Car Insurance: ? (Not sure, wife pays it), MMO: $13, 80-90% of what's left goes to debt. This is of course with two incomes.

I pay ~30%, I share a house with my brother, so if I was up for all the rent, it would be over half my income, but Melbourne is one of the cheaper places to live in Aus, that I am renting from my step-dad which helps a heap. If I was paying the going market is about $370 a fortnight for a house. (US$335 or £168.13)

Between 16% and 24% of my monthly income on rent/utilities. (Heat is expensive.) Why do you ask?

Rent: 425
Phone: 50
Internet: 50
Utilities are free with apt
Food: (I eat out way too much ;))

I'm still a student, so percentages aren't really applicable for me.

Rent: 0 (living at home with parents still)
Cellphone: ~36 including taxes
Internet + Utilities: 0
Food: A lot, depends on how often I eat out versus eating at home.
Gas: 150-200 (goes up and down depending on gas prices and how much I drive, commuting 90 miles a day for school doesn't help any, even with getting 37 miles per gallon) - when my car was down waiting for replacement parts a few weeks ago I had to drive my mom's freaking SUV for a week. $100 for a week of commuting... vehicles that only get 16 mpg highway are crap.

Yeah, I'm pretty well off at the moment.

That's not including server expenses and stuff, but usually they are covered by income from clients.

About 25% on my rent. Add on utilities and everything else to that and its probably closer to 30%. I pay more than I'd like for rent, but then again I chose an apartment where I can walk to work, so I save on gas money.

I've converted to USD. Figures are per month.

Rent: $250
Phone: $50
Electricity: $80
Internet: $45

Total: $425

Income after tax: $2370

So it comes to about 18%

I haven't included cell phone costs, as my girlfriend usually pays for mine through online banking. My food costs are also pretty low now as I get free food at work.

Uh, including property tax and other bills?

All in usd

Rent: $400
Gas/Water/Power: $0 (I don't pay it)
Cable TV/Internet: $118
VOIP: <= $5
Cell: <= $20 (I haven't put money on it in a couple months)
Food+Other: $200

Income: $1058

So about 70% of my income is spent on fixed expenses. None of this includes anything I might make from the occasional contract jobs I take.

60% on rent, 81% total for all fixed expenses, but then again my income isn't that great.

Yet 600$ rent seems more than nearly everyone else here who are renting an apartment. Normally people pay less rent for living at home.
