Quote: You didn't ask any questions. You just rambled on about another day of your life. While true, I didn't have any question marks, I was still asking what could cause my brakes to do that. Quote: DeathWish hates gripping the road!

Pumping the brakes is just a kludge to allow the wheels to turn at least some of the time. The earliest ABS did this also, the later ones try to maintain maximum braking without locking up. That's what I try to do in a panic stop in bad weather, when you feel it locking up, ease off a bit. "Emergency" brakes: Even if the handbrake applies enough to lock up the (usually) rear wheels, it won't slow down very fast, as the weight pitches to the front of the car and the rear wheels just howl under light loading. Still, it's way better than nothing. They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas. |

Quote: I already mentioned that you remove your ability to steer when you do that. Yeah, exactly what he said. Quote: First, my car is notorious for piss poor rain handling. That's a load of bullshit. There's no difference in handling rain or shine if you don't got idiotically fast and have good tires. Obviously if the road is worn so it has grooves, then there could be trouble for any car with any tires. That obviously needs some careful steering to avoid tires hitting the grooves, which requires you to see out of your car, which i don't think you do very well, after having sat in a 92 eclipse (which is the same car yours is anyway) and knowing you're 10cm shorter than me. Coupé's are not for short guys, you know. You don't deserve my sig. |
