No James, turn to the US side of the Shadowmoon!

Oh, and an orb held in off-hand? I'd say that's worthless, but what do I know? Well, I know I could put a lot better things in my other hand. Like my neat shield I got from Gnomeregan that has a 5% chance of dealing extra damage to my enemy every time I'm struck. Not to mention better stats than my last shield.

Not all classes use shields. :)

I'm sure they could use other more useful things though. I've had other off-hand items that have cool tricks like dropping the enemy's armor.

I bought a stack of light leather the other day and paid 5 silver

Yeah. I considered starting a 2nd char just to get access to skinning :)
My tailor dosn't need leather often, but I think it's pretty pointless to pay high prices for wool or leather.
When I got the pattern to do 8 slot bags I considered buying wool (because I wasn't high level enough to win against the lvl 18+ humanoids that normally drop wool). But the prices are just plain crazy. I would pay more for the wool than I would get for the finished bag.

I'm actually wondering why people buy stuff there.

I started as a skinner/leatherer, but I found the stuff I could build not interesting enough to pursue the skills. So I changed to mining and engineering at level 18 or so. I got my skills much higher than before in much shorter time.

The problem with an alt for skinning is that you probably need pretty heavy leather and to be able to get that stuff you need a quite high skill and kill quite high level mobs. So you will have to invest a lot of time -- most of the time it's less of a pain to ask friends or guild mates and wait. :)

Oh and the 5 silver were quite reasonable compared to the auction house. :)

I would disagree a tad Mars. If your alt is something you like to play, like another class you enjoy, then there's no problem. You'll play both chars 50% of the time each, get both to high levels, and thus use all your material skills.
At least that's what I'm hoping to do when I make my alt Druid.

I don't understand how anyone could have 2 characters. I mean I'm overwhelmed with the amount of things to do with 1 character. I mean wow. This game blows my mind on how big it is.

Actually I think I'm a tad ugly, but some women disagree, mostly Asians for some reason.

Yeah, it does that initially. But eventually you get bored of your class and you want to try it from another race/class perspective. All the high-levels in my guild have low level alts.

My Priest is 3000 XP less of level 21. I like it, but I can't decide whether to go Shadow or Holy. Holy gets me no argo, Shadow gets me thems l33ts h2x4r sp3llz. ;D

Technically speaking, you don't have to kill it to skin it. ;) As long as someone else does. My Priest could skin anything he got near, though, and I never had any problem killing stuff.

Though, I have no real use for the skins, as I don't have leatherworking. ;D I have tailoring, which uses skins occasionally.

I think my two biggest problems with WoW are that there aren't any discounts for multiple accounts (in the same house, say, for a family), and that you can't move characters between realms. The name taken argument doesn't really have any real value, because you could simply change your name. If they don't want people switching back of forth, make it so they can't. Once or twice a year is more than enough for most people.

I've already got a level 40 mage on US Shadowmoon who will shortly be donating his wares to a resonsible allegro player ...not that I've got an awful lot but I'm sure anyone saving for a mount will appreciate my 30 gold.

Hmmm, I think it'll have to be Shadowmoon then. XG: What are the general policies of your guild and how large is it?

That is one big scary dragon... is there any normal way to survive that amount of damage?

I just love dragons in AD&D... can do up to 24d12+24 or so points of damage (depending on age, but if you have a dragon I think it should be big, old and mean), and you can save for half - meaning that out of all the players in the current group, one or two have a slight chance to survive if I roll 24 ones.

Isn't Onyxia the one that nobody managed to kill yet? Or has there been a successful party?

Ah, apparently a Korean guild managed to do it in january: http://www.h-anime.net/onykill.jpg
