I'm a programmer and an artist, so when I do art it is, in theory, programmers art. When I write code, it is, in theory, artists code.

You guys argue about the stupidest things. Who cares if it's programmer's art? Who cares what Yves says? Honestly.

On-topic: Those are nice, but I do second the requests for them all on one sheet, and maybe in .bmp format.

Programmer's art refers to temporary, generally awful, graphics intended as placeholders to work with while coding until decent/final artwork can be swapped in...

p.s. that 3d render sucks

22 minutes I usually spend more than 25 minutes unless I'm sketching.

I also used to have pink water and sky. - Magic pink (255,0,255) looks almost the same colour as sky blue to me.

Yurgh :)
But seriously, how do you colorblind people manage in games? Seems to me that not seeing colors would be a serious disadvantage, especially in online vision-heavy games like FPSs :)

Well most colorblind people aren't completely colorblind, they just have trouble distinguishing red/green/whatever.

But yea, it's a disability. I mean, how do people with only one hand manage in games? I'm sure there are problems that apply there as well.

Yeah, it's not necessarily that we don't see colour, just that it's difficult to tell red/green or blue/yellow or whichever combination apart. I'm not that bad really, but i do silly things like green skin a lot of the time. I do have a friend who can't see colour at all though :o

I can't really imagine what that looks like... my own colour vision is excellent (even more so considering I'm a guy - men typically have poorer colour vision than women), of which I'm rather glad.

I do like the tiles and sprites, although I don't think I'll be using them.

Well, from what he says I gather he can only see things in shades of black and white. So I'd imagine it's a bit like seeing the world through a black and white TV set, although I don't know if that's anything like how he perceives it. I know that he can't watch television without special glasses though (i don't know how they work either, but they do, allegedly).

That's why I don't play them. Having said that, I'm good at judging tones and light intensity (perhaps better than the average non-colourblind person). For this reason I find red and yellow very easy is distinguish between, but red/green impossible.

Having played around with RGB values in PSP, I've come to realise something quite interesting: Any two colours that have a similar total R+G value (in fact it's a bit more like R+1.3*G) I have trouble telling the difference between. e.g. (220,0,0) and (0,180,0) or (255,0,255) and (0,200,255).

This has always fascinated me. You see them as the same color? Is it a shade of gray?

Yes, I see them as almost the same colour (a reddish greeny brown colour). So if you show me a dark green colour, I'll struggle to tell if it is red green or brown, but if you were to give me two pencils, one dark green and one red, although I would struggle, I would probably eventually be able to tell which is which (mainly from a lifetime of practice).

I certainly don't see in greyscale ;D. Still, it can be a real pain in the *rse at times >:(.

I once got told off for colouring in a map of britain red instead of green :o. I've also been known to colour my mum's hair green in pictures :). I have to concentrate greatly on something that's dark red/green to figure out what colour it is though :-/

Wow, colour blind women are very rare. And you program too? That's like a chance of ... one in a million!
