I stole this nick from someone else half a decade ago.
They played MajicRealm - a VERY old pay-to-play text RPG - as a thief, if I recall correctly. Sure showed that thief how to steal! ;)

It's french or something, I think. Compagne Derezo! Whatever the hell that means.. I think it's something to do with ballet or something.

As for my avatar, it's from a popular TV show called 'The Simpsons' which is part of the Fox Television Network. The series first aired way back in the late 80's. This particular character is Mr. Burns, who is the owner of a nuclear power plant. He's exceedingly wealthy, and also extremely old. For those who recall the episode my avatar is from, you'll know that burns' age has 4 digits. ;D

I'm sure most of you didn't know where my avatar was from. So now you do. ;)

Nick: My real name. For some reason my parents named me Gage Emmeric Manson just because they wanted to have a child whose name's initials spelled out GEM.

Avatar: Don't have one yet because I've not designed it yet.

To me, your nicks sounds a lot like the spanish word 'aderezo' (dressing), so whenever I see any post of you, I think of Thousand Islands :)

Hmm, he doesn't look miserable enough to be marvin imo. He wasn't that bad in Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, though. It gets more fun in the sequels ;)

I don't think I was even asked for a nickname when I joined allegro.cc

The reason for my avatar is because I am secretly Bruce Lee.

My Nick, Radagar, is a name I came up with for an Elven Ranger as a Dungeons & Dragons character, years ago. It's actually based off of Radagast the Brown, a less-known Wizard in the Tolkien world of Middle Earth. I've since used the name quite a bit on the internet, and as characters in online games, such as EverQuest and Horizons, and Ultima Online.

My avatar is my German Shepherd when she was just a puppy =)

Radagar - So your vote is for A.D.H.D.?
Chris Katko - Well, that was uninten--ooh kitty!

My current avatar has nothing to do with my name, but I kept see this guy in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season 2 DVD commericial, and it kept making my laugh to see that freaky puppet stroking that ball. I had to make it my avatar... Heh heh... It's making my laugh right now!

Heh... well, I've found a way to have my avatar be relevant to my name, and it still makes me laugh with it's freakish puppetiness... Whoo, whoo!!!

Um. My "nick" here is guessable.

And my avatar, not so much. :) You'd have to be a fan of the old Bullwinkle cartoon to guess who it is ;)

Okay I have read this thread since the beginning but was too lazy to post... Here I go 8-) :

Well my friends usually have some difficulty understanding my nick, but for english speaking people it shouldn't be so difficult.
Firstly, I once needed a nick to register accounts on internet. Since I lack imagination, I thought of making a nick from my first name, which is Florian. In fact everyone calls me Flo, so I am Flo. But it is a bit too short. I am not any Flo. I am The Flo, the only one. Therefore I am Da Flo ( a bit of english slang here and there ). So da_flo ;).
And BTW da_flo can also be read da flow ( I've seen people on #allegro on IRC calling me like this ), which can be seen as a rap or hip-hop reference ( even though I do not listen to this kind of music any longer ::) )

Then I kept this nick cause I got used to it ;D

Then as for my avatar...
I change avatars from time to time, so it's not really relevant. My current avatar is quite recent. It's Jin from the anime Samurai Champloo ( see my sig ). I took him because I became a fan of this anime ( and yet only the very first episodes are available :D ) and Jin is really coooool ( and it's the character that sort of looks the most like me )

My previous avatar was a bit more relevant, it was a chryzode rendered by my program ( see my sig and my site ;D ). Well people might still not know what chryzodes are, but some already know me as the chryzode freak here ;D. Anyway if you're curious check it ( Yay another shameless plug ;D )
It looked like this : chryzode.png
Well it looks quite strange if you do not know what it is, so with it I had the chance to be called "Funky-avatares" or "Nucleus Boy" by X-G... neat... ;D

And some of you perhaps remember my previous avatar, which I kept the longest on allegro.cc. It was an animated avatar of Samus Aran from the wonderful SNES game Super Metroid :D. I reallu love this console and particularly this game.
Here is the avatar for people having forgotten it, too : samus.gif

Okay I was a bit too verbose, but I did it ::)... I postes here and now you know everything about me ;) ( well, not everything ;D )

Wait, Watanabe Shinichi made that? That guy's insane. I mean, totally insane. He came up with Excel Saga and Puni Puni Poemi, for god's sake. I HAVE to see that. ;D

Watanabe made Cowboy Bebop too, which was great.

And you just need to watch the first episode of Samurai Champloo to see this guy is completely insane ! :D

Well, I won't post such stuff here, but if you need some links to fansubs groups, forums, or torrent trackers for Samurai Champloo, feel free to PM me.

I've never picture Marvin as a fluffy shaped white thing.
My vision was a redeyed greyish tincan model, with diodes glowing on the side.

The book also clearly describes him as man-sized, and when he faces the Frogstar tank it specifically says he is not a "small" robot. But all Hitchhiker accounts contradict all others, so why shouldn't the movie be as faithful to the book as the book is to the TV and radio show? ;D

Hate to break it to ya, Trezker, but your "vision" is pretty much from the BBC television special. ;D

Goodbytes is from the book "Jurassic Park." The tin can avatar is just something I made up.

23: You know... that one dinosaur... with the teeth... sigh, never mind.

Hehe, here's the quote:

Jurassic Park said:

In a moment, all the keystrokes that Nedry had entered into the computer earlier in the day were listed in a window on the screen:
[...]
system
nedry
goto command level
nedry
040/#xy/67&
mr goodbytes
security
keycheck off
safety off
sl off
security
white_rbt.obj

From this I infer that 'mr goodbytes' is either nedry's password or the set of keystrokes that trigger his security backdoor with which he was able to shut down the park. Whatever. I just thought it sounded cool.

My nick and avatar come from the Japanese video game series Ys. It was the first video game to ever release its music as a seperate purchasible sound track, and had it's own manga series drawn about it. Also had 3 anime movies made. Currently "Ys Online", an mmorpg, is being developed... but I doubt it will reach the US :-/
The current avatar is from Ys 6.
Adol is the hero/main character in all of them.
I was an original fan of the very first Ys when it came to the US in 1991... it was way before its time, what with voice acting and a large color pallete(sp?) and all: This girl for
example The original came out for the turbo graphix cd system in America. It had been translated to English for the American release.
Dark Fact is the last boss's right hand man from the first Ys.

No, marvin's just depressed. It's a vastly different condition.

You don't deserve my sig.
