I Hate Curry |

There is this old Indian (from India) couple living two floors below me and every other day they are cooking up a toxic cloud of curry fumes that permeates the entire building. Some mornings I wake up choking on the stuff, other times I can't go to sleep at night because the fumes are so strong. Curry for breakfast or a late night snack, how bizzare is that? Why should I be have to smell that crap while sitting in the privacy of my own apartment? And how does the stench come through floors and walls anyway? Its like Quantum Tunneling stink particles or something. Well, off to the super Walmart to get another case of air freshener.... |

Curry is a type of foodstuff, generally, um, indian? It's good. But kinda an acquired taste, I think. And can be spicy.

In a similar situation, when I was really young I happened to have next door neighbors who weren't Indian, but they lived in India for quite some time. They loved to make curried... anything - mostly rice. Needless to say, our family got invited over there quite often, and so developed that "aquired" taste very early on. I really like curried things, like chicken, rice, shrimp, whatever. I don't care for curried beef though.

Because of Britain's Colonial links you'll find very many people who emigrated from India to Britain (and their children/grandchildren). This also means very many indian restaurants! I have to say chicken korma is my favourite curry, as some of the others are too hot for me. Actually there is a wide and diverse range of food restaurants in Britain now. So although we still aren't great at cooking, we do have great places to eat out! Just for fun I made a quick list of some of the different countries restaurants I have seen in Nottingham, UK. (Where I live) Indian Then I got stuck.. |

Not at a food court in a mall.. in restaurants! I'm not saying other countries don't have all these foods or restaurants too. Just saying what foods I can remember seeing in Nottingham. |

[idiot]EATING DOGS!?!?!? OMG THAT IS SO GROSS YOU SICK SICK OMG THAT IS SO GROSS WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?[/idiot];) Guess I can see eating pretty much any type of meat except human ... but living in close quarters with specific animals will kinda make them harder to eat ... I don't think I'd personally be able to eat dogs unless I was in a weird mood or didn't know it was dog meat.

Curry is basically gravy that comes with the food. Here in Indian be it any part of it I think curry is almost an integral part of our daily food, though it neednot be very spicy all the time. It can pretty thin or thick depending upon preparation. Quote: I think Pradeepto Bhattacharya would beat you in a name length competition
Cool.I'm dumb!..I always had one of the longest name among my peers. But there are places in India where ppl have really really long names. Regards -- |

Yves, I have a good friend who is Sri Lankian, she studied here for a number of years and her english is perfect with no trace of accent. Her name is Kuntavie Nagendra. I believe her family live near Tamil.
