Author's Description: Vavoom is a source port based on sources of Doom, Heretic and Hexen.

This version supports most of the Boom level editing features and many other line specials are now available. There's also new OpenGL driver for Linux that should fix problems with mouse. Saving of a cooperative game is also implemented (but I couldn't test it). And of course usual bug fixes and improvements.

  • 9Incredibly professional looking, although the documentation could be better. By far the most impressive Allegro program I've ever seen.
  • 9I didn't like Doom, now I do! I didn't like Hexen, I still don't:)
  • 9Really nice to be able to play Doom with 3D acceleration. For some reason I didn't like this port as much as ZDoom. It just isn't the same without the original music.
