Author's Description: King Sakkar has commisioned you to find the elusive Red Gem of Dex. Little did you know that Dex was a planet which contained little life. The only thing that moves on the planet are ghosts!

Your sole eqiupment is a specialized flashlight called the X-Beam. Its specialized light is the only thing that can destroy these ghosts. Be weary, however, for the ghosts travel in packs; and each pack has only but a few shards of the Red Gem, which you must find in its entirety.

Did the King mention to tell you that the X-Beam can overheat?

Ghosts of Dex is my entry for the official 2003 Blitzhack competition. All art, music, and the general storyline were pre-created by participants and the creator of the competition. Results have not been posted yet. Once they are shall update this page and show the grade the game has received.

• 6Took me a while to understand what you need to do. Futrhermore, the graphics don't have anything to do with the game. But the gameplay is good - I guess if the interface was a little easier and more understandable, it could have been a nice game. A nice idea, anyway.

• 6I don't really get the game. I guess the main problem is that you don't get any feedback if you shoot (neither via gfx or sound). There's also no way to find out how often you need to hit the sprites anymore. On the other hand, for a game written in 6 hours (Blitzhack), it's not bad at all.
