Author's Description: Ghost in the Machine is an old-school platform game like the ones I grew up with as a child. It started as a 24-hour Game Jam entry, and has been growing since then, seeing a few rewrites and big design overhauls. The game, by both myself and former roommate Julian Hammerstein at RIT, has been in development for over a year now.
The game is very simple – the player can just move left, right, or jump. The goal is to reach the teleporter at the end of the level, while avoiding being crushed, falling on spikes, or getting hurt some other way. The game keeps track of how quickly you were able to reach the end, and your lives are unlimited. This is a platform puzzle game, and the reward for completing a tough level is that you feel like a genius who is on top of the world.
Right now the game is just in a demo state, and a release is planned late 2013 or early 2014. The August demo is available free here for mac and windows:
