Lots of broken stuff fixed; this may actually get finished now; see web page for details.
A complete rewrite. Better modularity, player input is now properly abstracted such that it could be gotten over a network with ease, (somewhat feeble) background animation, and now seven gemtypes, plus metal blocks that cannot be directly destroyed.
Keyboard input, some minor rules tuning, some source modularity improvements (more to come in this area =). There is code to support score-keeping here, but no calls to it yet. Maybe sometime this weekend (beginning 14 June). Maybe.
Some gameplay tuning - 'gimme' matches no longer occur without user intervention when new lines are spawned, and there are now seven possible gemtypes instead of four, which makes it more difficult to win by just button-mashing.
Overall Rating: 8.0
- PreAlpha8 >> Now with Keyboard support. It's a very nice game. Looks great and the sounds are nice too! The keyboard up/down keys move a little too fast, and, its easy to just hold up and down and keep hitting the piece moving button to demolish the puzzle. :)
- pre_alpha_8 looks and sounds very nice. The gameplay is really not simply a Tetris Attack or Collums clone, but something new. Unfortunately the keyboard reacts to sensitive. Once finished, this game will kick ass!
