FF9 Piano - You're not Alone

Armed with my piano, my laptop and some printed sheet music, I visited my parents where I managed to persuade my mum to let me record her on the piano.

She tends to play a piece through a couple of times following the sheet music, and then plays her own interpretation of it once she knows the tune.

I thought some of you might enjoy this piece.

There are a few mistakes, but still pretty impressive for something she hasn't really rehearsed. :)

Wow, I'm impressed! The mistakes are easily forgivable, I believe you when you say it was only just learned. Give mum a high five from me, awesome stuff! (Ps, can you get her to learn the "To Zanarkand" piece from FF10 and upload it!)

Lovely dog too :)

Unfortunately I stopped at FF9, so I'm not emotionally attached to that piece, pretty as it may be. :P

Sad, isn't it? :(

Yes it is. It sounds great with headphones on; however, direct from the in-built speakers it sounds pretty weak. I suspect this is the case with most of the cheaper digital pianos.

Wow, that's great! Takes me right back.

I stopped at XIII -- I never went to the PlayStation3 (or intend to).

Doesn't seem great to me. ???

Nothing against the pianist, just seems like a boring, simple song.

I have that written above the door to my apartment.

I like his mustache. :o

The song, eh, not so much. Slightly better than something Dizzy Egg might put together.

How much time does she spend practicing piano? Two hours every day?

They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas.

She doesn't practice, she plays to relieve stress. :P

Funnily enough, yes, because I'm the only one in the family who appreciates her playing.

She sounds like a decent player, I imagine with a piece she knows well, there wouldn't be any mistakes.

That was very well done. :) I only got to the third disc of FFIX and it's been so long that I don't recognize this song. Now FFVII I would recognize. :P Someday I should look into getting piano lessons or something ...
