FIEND source code

Hi guys,

I have been looking for the source code of FIEND, the game is available on the depot at http://www.allegro.cc/depot/FIEND/. It had sources available, but the website is no longer online and the authors have gone on to develop the PENUMBRA series of games.

If anybody still has it somewhere, let me know.

Thanks!

The author still keeps a minimal site here, but not much content:
http://www.frictionalgames.com/site/fiend

I also have the Fiend editor, downloaded in 2002 (!), but no source.
According to the readme (of the game), the source code can be available on request.

It's for "the Project 2" that there was a public source archive floating around, and I still have it (I added mouse aim ;))

Thanks for the answers guys. I've tried all the copies that are on web.archive.org to no avail... The sources for FIEND were on the website back in the day and I was sure I had them on my backups, but I've found the game only :(

Project 2? Was it Unbirth? I had once the full sources for the last version of FIEND, they were available back then... I guess I'll have to pester someone from Frictional Games until I get to the original programmer.

Seems you can get the sources from the forums at Frictional:

Edit:

Cool. Just register and download the code. Someone has put the code into bitbucket and seems to try to get it running on linux:

Thank you very much tobing! I dabbled a little with it around 2002 or so, and I've just bought a Dingoo A320 (nice portable console with a homebrew linux kernel available) and wanted to port something not already ported. I remembered FIEND and that set up all in motion.

Thanks again guys.
