Time to share some good optical illusions. Post ones you have please. I'll start {"name":"62157.png","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/e\/4\/e47e049800659ae32810dc7829a93258.jpg","w":640,"h":480,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/e\/4\/e47e049800659ae32810dc7829a93258"} {"name":"30819.jpg","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/a\/f\/afd5b8f396e5a7650e5727254402a70b.jpg","w":468,"h":504,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/a\/f\/afd5b8f396e5a7650e5727254402a70b"} Don't take yourself too seriously, but do take your responsibilities very seriously. |

@superstar: The artist who made that "tree face" is in my school. She didn't want to sell that; she made it for her mother. Then she was pressured to make copies by nearly 3,000 people all wanting a print.

This tree face image is found on 905 different webpages. http://www.tineye.com/search/399d5251537f808573249538e4523660286b1e3e/ They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas. |

And the other one comes up with 44 results. Interesting site, Arthur. Also interesting that the tree is much more prevalent.

I don't understand the middle one, with the little checkerboard. What's supposed to be happening? And this video is tricky http://www.youtube.com/v/xl1lLze5ZpM&hl=en_US&fs=1&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas. |

I'm looking at the middle one and well, my eyes are telling me thy are not the same color. The letters A & B are the same color yes, but the square where A rest inside of and B rest inside of seem to be too total different shades on the spectrum of gray, one is way lighter and one is waay darker. Anyone else seeing the same color, I'm tempted to do print screen and get the pixel color information. [edit] [edit] And that video link posted about crazy diamonds, wow thats real too. I know about some illusions thus I created this thread but I was thinking perhaps, maybe video editting. But I print screen again, selected out the piece the moves around the board placed it on top of all three different shades and the same effect was produced. Cool stuff. Ummh camoflouge technology, somehow? Don't take yourself too seriously, but do take your responsibilities very seriously. |

Posted in 2002, you have a good memory. The tricky diamonds video, I printed out the board and tried it in front of me and if works the same, quit crazy to see it right in front of you. Don't take yourself too seriously, but do take your responsibilities very seriously. |

Yes. It's old. Most of the good ones are old. But that doesn't stop them from being my favourites. ----------- |

Here's another oldie but goodie. I made one once; in the right lighting (ie: head not casting a shadow on itself, which ruins the effect) it actually works pretty well! Do a Google for "paper dragon illusion" for printouts. -- |

This one is obligatory: [Mod edit - link removed] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Years of thorough research have revealed that what people find beautiful about the Mandelbrot set is not the set itself, but all the rest. |

It seems pretty obvious to me she's spinning on the Y axis. They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas. |

Neil Black said: The shadow gives it away. When I "see" it as clockwise, the shadow doesn't look right, so I guess it's true. On another note, why does a mirror reverse left and right, but not up and down? It preserves both left/right as well as up/down. It's the Z axis that's reversed. Imagine you're looking at the back of your head when you watch your reflection raise its right hand.
