I'm so sad.. I have been listening to MJ all my life and he was a favorite artist of mine. Yeah I know all the crap he has been accused of. For me it's about the music. So I'm saddened he is gone. So today is a tribute day of listening to his music. Sabrina: I've sigged you, will you sig me? -Thomas Fjellstrom 12-06-07 |

Thomas Harte said: Steven Wells, who passed away on Tuesday (probably another one with all the international fame of Ed McMahon?), I've never heard of either of them. Quote: If we're going to start going on about local celebrity deaths, Danny La Rue isn't too long gone. I've never heard of him, either.

Ed McMahon owned "professional" wrestling. So, yeah, not really a celebrity. -- |

Jeff Bernard said: Ed McMahon owned "professional" wrestling. So, yeah, not really a celebrity. The Wikipedia article on him says nothing about wrestling. His biggest role seems to have been in The Tonight Show. After reading about him, I can say I recognise the catch-phrase "Here's Johnny," though I had no idea what it was from. I think I've just come across it in other shows, movies, etc. I've never actually seen The Tonight Show itself.

I didn't like him. He was a childish douchebag. And I wanted him in prison (and his kids with real parents). But I never said I wish he was dead. You never wish death on strangers with actual mental problems... -----sig: |

Oy, there will be some internet jokes floating around about his death. Cat! I'm a kitty cat. And I dance dance dance, and I dance dance dance. |

Whats the difference between MJ and a plastic bag? Although both are plastic, the bag can still be dangerous to kids. Meh, I can't say I'm happy that he passed away (or did he?), but I'm not sad either. The world is a better place now. ___________________________________________ |

Ummm, professional wrestling is another USA (& Japan - presumably exported at the same time as baseball?) specific. And most people know "here's johnny" from The Shining - that it originates from some television show is the sort of trivia that crops up as a trick question in pub quizes. It's not an insult for someone to be famous in a limited geographical area, you know. Fame isn't even strongly correlated with talent. [My site] [Tetrominoes] |

He was the greatest star after Elvis Presley. His work in the 80s was a quantum leap over what was produced at the time, both visually and acoustically. And just like any other megastar, he did not end up well... |

Well, if he was a kiddie fiddler he deserves to be dead. Neil. wii:0356-1384-6687-2022, kart:3308-4806-6002. XBOX:chucklepie |

The weird thing is that I was just saw the full 'Thriller' video yesterday for my first time. I had the song stuck in my head for some reason and decided on a whim to watch the video on youtube. I was looking at the wikipedia article for the video as well. This was a few hours before I found out he was dead. I've always thought he was weird, especially when he said he didn't see anything wrong with sharing his bed with young boys during sleepovers. That may be true if nothing did happen but it still seems creepy as hell to me. He was definitely a talented musician though and was in pretty good shape for his upcoming tour. ================================================= |

I've been bombarded with the jokes today, 99% of which are hideous and will not be repeated by myself. However, I feel it my duty to post at least one. "Whats the difference between Micheal Jackson and Alex Ferguson? Ferguson will be playing Giggs in August." You will only get that if you know a little about the English Premiership. My thoughts? I loved the old stuff from the 80's, but as a person I think he was insane; whether it was his fault or his Dads I dunno...but he was fooked up. RIP wacko x

axilmar said: He was the greatest star after Elvis Presley. Nah, Bowie is the greatest star. However, in my personal list, I'd give Elvis & MJ top 5 billings, albeit only because I'm allowing showmanship as a factor. The BBC have already gone massively overboard on this story, but I guess their calculation is that they're bored of talking about Iran and don't really want to mention the release of BBC payroll information last night, which was otherwise set to play big nationally. One of the tabloid newspapers is alleging a painkiller overdose, but I can't see how that can possibly be anything other than gross speculation at this point. Though with no-one left to sue them for libel, I don't suppose it matters. EDIT: after a quick iTunes search, I have Ms Jackson by Outkast, and songs by The Sleepy Jackson, Jackson Jones and Wanda Jackson. No Michael Jackson at all. [My site] [Tetrominoes] |

I'm sure he'll fade in not too long, but I'm fairly condifent that at present he's probably the world's most widely known person after Jesus. For example, mention Elvis Presley in an isolated area of Africa and they won't know who the hell you're talking about, but mention Michael Jackson and you're sure to get a reaction.

Well he was weird, I didn't like him. But his music from back then could be listened to. My first reaction in the morning was: "how old did they just say he was?" "Fifty." "What the hell?" Anyway rest in piece. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

They found a car outside of his place...they say it's his personal doctor's vehicle. Maybe he was tired of being felt up. Don't know if he really did all of those things...I'm sure at least ONE was true. I'm sure some people where probably just out for money, but I mean come on...with that many people saying they where "touched" by him...you really just got to believe it, ya know. Edit: Edit 2: -- |

I'm sorry to see him go. I always wonder about people as, er, "eccentric" as Jackson and where they would end up if not in an early grave. I mean, if Spears could turn it around...
