I made a horrible abomination. I will not post it. Maybe I'm missing something... but this seems utterly useless. Where is the "game"?

Very nice Epsi, it really looks like our mascot! Quote: Maybe I'm missing something... but this seems utterly useless. Where is the "game"? Isn't this supposed to be a Creature "creator"? The game will be ready in september. [FMC Studios] - [Caries Field] - [Ctris] - [Pman] - [Chess for allegroites] |

It seems a bit like charging money for the character-creation part of an RPG... I might post it later, gotta make it prettier first

So far these are all looking fairly wholesome. Most people I know seem to just be making gigantic penis monsters. -- |

I don't have it yet. Neither do I, because that site claims that my country has full download slots, so I have to wait. What a shame, this is a great opportunity to make content for our games. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

Hehehehe, if you are trying to download from Megaupload, Rapidshare or similar, you can guess it is illegal -- |

Quote: What a shame, this is a great opportunity to make content for our games. How do you figure? You would probably have to re-create the entire rendering system which I would guess is rather non-trivial task. I doubt it saves the creatures as meshes and animation data... Could be nice as a design tool I guess shrug

The good thing about this is that, apparently, you can use created creatures in any version of the game, so I could take the exported creature from the PC version and use it in the console one. -- |

Jonatan: well it can export animations, and I'm not saying that you need 3d model. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

Fair enough. Good point OICW; that might be useful. Depends on the quality and such, and more than anything licence issues. I doubt you can use the product of this "game" for anything...

Well that surely depends on the licence. However it's user generated content and it would be like licensing 3d model because you made it with Maya. You can use those pictures for forum avatars etc. Not to mention that it would surely propagate their game. [My website][CppReference][Pixelate][Allegators worldwide][Who's online] |

It could be like Miis, they are just a bunch of indexes. If the procedural algorithm is fed always the same seed, you would be able to reproduce any creature with only the general index of the skin, legs, etc. If you can choose exactly where to put members (like a pixel up, two pixels down, etc, they may be using a matrix to store limb joints. In any case, no, you would not be able to do anything with the export information. Quote: Well that surely depends on the licence. However, the textures could be copyrighted as art, so you would only own the model, but not the final creature. -- |
