This is my entry for Speedhack 07. It's really good, maybe the best competition game I ever made /ADVERTISEMENT.

The attachment is the revised (24min for bug fixing) Windows build, with all needed DLLs and ready to go.

Please tell me what you think.
Oh, and I need sound effects for the next revised version. If anyone is willing to make them, I would be thankful and add him to the credits.

EDIT: Fixed another bug. Redownload if you want.

Is that a flying fatty?

I've already played 30 of the entries, I'm continuing the rest later, which includes this one. I look forward to it!

Haha!

Awesome! Gameplay could have been more interesting (higher rate of fire, faster movement, combos...), but the intro alone makes this a worthwhile download.

Yeah, I know. I was really obsessed with the intro (particularly the dialogue). It was on the second day when I suddenly thought "whoa, I have to make a game out of it".

What I personally miss are sound effects for the explosions (had no time for that). Maybe I'll add some and make a revised version out of it.

Now that was an unexpected turn of events. ;)

Love the intro screen, but it seems like you've spent more time in it than in the actual game!

This game could certainly benefit from more responsive movement and lower cooldown time.

Thanks! :D
Which intro screen do you mean? The "echodot" one, the "speedhack" one or the entry dialogue?

What do you mean with "more responsive movement"?
Wouldn't make lower cooldown time the game too easy? I mean, the lightning attack is very powerful after all.

The echodot+speedhack sequence. Great stuff there. :)

It felt that she moved quite slowly, which quickly became annoying...

Yes, as would my other suggestion... I guess you can always lower her life, add more planes or increase the bomb blast radius to offset it. ;)

Yeah, admittedly I did that the afternoon before the speedhack started. To get going with Allegro and set up my programming environment.

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions, maybe I'll find the time to implement them. Either way, I've learnt something for the next Speedhack :)

I really like the lightning effect, I am looking at the code now. Is it your own invention? or did you take the algorithm from other place? I really liked it. The game is crazy and I liked it too.

Sweet entry! This is probably the funnest one I've played (10 so far).

Definite extra bonus points for original art and sound. Great job!

It's my own invention. I only put it into LightningArc.c because I use it in two places (Intro and Game).

Like everyone else said: Awesome intro; game needs more substance.

The intro is marvellous. I also like the music and how it changes to fit the current game situation, as that does create a cool atmosphere.

Lovely music and very cool intro. The gameplay needs some tweaking, though. But it's okay for 72 hours.
