Mmmmmh, Bratwurst. Great, now I'm hungry.

Allegro 5: Colossus ("There is another system!")
This codename underlines the system independence (also, the movie is quite cool).

Hilarious thread.

As a side note, does anyone think Allegro 5 will come into existence ... ever? Allegro 4.* is actually quite good as is. It doesn't have all the amazing things people want, but it works. And we have OpenLayer for accelerated things. So what's the motivation to make A5 happen anyway?

Clear up the mess from the API.

Allegro 5 should be c++ ::)
It would be out by now then.

Nah. It would be out if people actually had time to work on it. Language doesn't have anything to do with it.

Obviously Maestro is the only name you can choose, given it's the successor to Allegro. Though if you do, you'll have to add a few digitised speech functions.

Which is why having the Allegro Community Castle would be so awesome.

That's true, but the big advantage of that other ACC(Allegro Community Castle) would be that everybody would have time to work on Allegro and/or projects that use Allegro.

I agree, it only needs periodical maintenance, and don't forget about Fblend and AllegroGL.
The only thing I miss is an AllegroD3D.
