I've never understood why some people have this bizzar aversion to seeing movies alone. I enjoy movies better alone (at a theatre, at least).

I feel awkward going solo to anywhere that's considered to be a popular place to socialize. I don't even like walking through the mall alone :o
It's like one big uncomfortable silence.... and I don't enjoy uncomfortable silences.

I'd rather go with a friend, so long as they're quiet during the movie. Thankfully I don't have any friends who talk during movies.
Although one friend of mine tends to ask questions he doesn't want the answers to, before we watch a movie (if I've seen it already).

That's why I try to avoid movie theatres altogether. There will always be stupid people making noise either by talking or by proxy (candy bags etc). All I want is silence. And that I can get by renting a DVD and watching it at home.

Jackie Chan movies are a different thing though. They're best watched with a group of people and maybe some beer.

I'd much rather see someone make Monkey Island - The Movie...

Deus Ex - The Movie droolage
Thief - The Movie droolage

And the best of all:

Anachronox - The Movie droolage squared

But knowing Hollywood, they'd screw that up by insert romances and whatnot into the plot.

Starcraft had a story. It's in the manual, and in the strategy guides too, IIRC. It at least pass as an action movie.

Deus Ex, drools. Thief drools. System Shock 1, 2, and 3. OMFG ;)

I for one think Dune would make a cool movie! 8-)

Never heard of it. Reminds me of that horribly hard SNES game pronounced "as-tan-axe" or something to that affect.

People go to movies together to socialize.

People go to movies alone to experience a movie.

Some people want bring their friends to watch a movie at their house but want them the STFU during it. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. "I want you to watch the movie with me, but you better not stuffing talk during it. I don't want to know you exist."

Yeah, Starcraft has a pretty good story. More than most Hollywood flicks, anyway. ;D Raynor is the man.

Me too. I heard they were going to make it but finally the project was cancelled :( But you can always watch Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It reminds me a lot about Monkey island.

When ever i hear/see the words 'Uma' and 'Thurman' i think of a particular scene in Stargåte.

Daniel: "I think you wrote the name of the planet where we'll find the lost city into the crossword."
Jack: "...Bit of a jump."
Daniel: "Why else would you do that?"
Sam: "The clue for seven down is Celestial body... And he wrote 'Uma Thurman'."
Jack: "Yes..."
Daniel: "It HAS to mean something!"

You don't deserve my sig.
