What do you think? Is it gonna flop like SMB and other game movies or bring video game movies out from the brink of failure?
I personally wanna see a Unreal Tournament Movie, just senseless violence and no plot
bring video game movies out from the brink of failure?
I think Tomb Raider & Resident Evil did this already.
I watched Resident Evil... god that chick is HOT ... haven't watched Tomb Raider, for some reason Angelina Jolie isn't that sexy to me
I'd see it anyway, I like gore and guns.
Angelina is much more attractive in my opinion.
The 2nd RE wasn't that bad, much better than the first.
This doesn't have to be a good idea - have you seen a movie that is not TPP?
TPP?
Third Person Perspective.
Angelina Jolie? You would!
Anyway, let's not forget Mario Brothers which was an awesome film, and ..err.. Tron and Final Fantasy and Mortal Kombat...
Personally I'm waiting for Icy Tower - The Movie, maybe with Orlando Bloom as Harold the Homeboy?
Pete
How about TPBCSTFP: third person but can switch to first peson!
PH: lmao hahaha
Did you ever watch "The 5th Element"? I think that is the same chick, and see almost gets naked.
That chick is too skinny. Nice hair and face, I'll give her that.
Orlando Bloom as Harold the Homeboy?
<u><i>STEVEN SEAGAL</u></i>.
Milla Jovovich.
No RP, I'm afraid she isn't qualified to play as Harold the Homeboy.
[edit] Pointless post
Haha. I must have missed that certain appendage.
I was answering the earlier comment, scary christmas cat.
I think that is the same chick, and see almost gets naked.
Same actress. But what do you mean with almost?
She was naked in RE:I. At least in the version I saw in the movies.
Well, a lot of game movies suck.. but I like some of them. They mention them all in that article, though.
A doom movie would be really cool, I think. It's actually a game that would be really good as a movie - unlike spirits within, mortal kombat, or a few others. I wouldn't go to see it because I like the game (like with spirits within), I'd go to see it because it sounds like an awesome movie.
I hate FF games, but I loved Spirts Within. I went to it for the realism of the computer generated characters.
I haven't seen RE:I in a long time. What part did she get naked?
I think a Doom movie could be good, but they all it's really going to be is a John McClain(?) guy shooting monsters. They will have to come up with a good sub plot I think.
Doom never had much of a plot, you are a relatively nameless marine stuck on mars in a facility where all hell breaks loose and you are left to fend for yourself, with really no explanation why you are immune to the effects while everyone else falls as zombies and demons
That is why they have to come up with one. No plot movies don't do very well. If they could explain your questions Steve Terry they could come up with something cool.
[EDIT]
If anything there should be a Half-Life movie.
There was a reason the player wasn't a zombie. If you read carefully you see that the marine was the only person left behind as the rest of the military went into the teleporters to check what was going on. They all died leaving him to be the sole survivor.
See, Doom does have a plot.
That's not the plot of Doom3
I'm talking about the first one, hence Doom and not Doom 3.
I haven't seen RE:I in a long time. What part did she get naked?
Maybe, like.. when you first see her in the movie?
She's in the shower, and you get to see some nipple when she puts her robe on. I just watched it for the second time 2 days ago, otherwise I'd have forgotten, too.
With Doom3, it's mainly the setting & basic plot that opens it up for a good movie. Hell is discovered on mars. That's enough for me to go watch it.
When I remember correctly, you can see almost everything when she gets off that OP table.
You guys pay too much attention to females in movies.
Heh I don't know which is more interresting... talking about the chick in Resident Evil or Doom the movie...
You guys pay too much attention to females in movies.
I'm just paying attention while watching movies. I saw RE:I 2 times, once in the cinema and one time on DVD. Guess I can recall almost every scene
After the 3rd or 4th time I can normally recall the dialogs almost.
Doom is more interesting, it has more guns.
Nothing makes a movie better than chicks with guns. ie. Tomb Raider & RE
Especially hot chicks with guns
I watched Resident Evil... god that chick is HOT ... haven't watched Tomb Raider, for some reason Angelina Jolie isn't that sexy to me
I agree completely
... dunno why Milla appears only in (relatively) few movies

She has something more... maybe her wild expression
?
Try cold showers people!
You guys pay too much attention to females in movies.
I promise, if there was a naked guy in RE:I, I'd know it
It's just that we're bringing up good things about the movie. Not bad things.
Especially hot chicks with guns
On that note, let's see some hustle making that Metroid movie there, Mr. Woo ...
Milla Jovovich and Angelina Jolie are definitely extremely hot chicks. I like Angelina Jolie better though because she has a nicer booty
nods And a nicer face.
Well, there're lots of good looking girls / women. But Milla can also act
Milla is the superior!
Wait for Resident Evil 2
7 of 9 is a hot borg chick with a phaser
Wait for Resident Evil 2
Why wait? I saw it on Tuesday?
Meh... I have no time.. or friends to see a movie with... I have to wait for DVD
Yeah, I saw it last week. It's quite good.
Wait for Resident Evil 2
Played it years ago.
Claire > Milla.
RE:A isn't getting released here for another two weeks. Living in a third-world backwater sucks.
I have to agree, Milla > Jolie.
I dunno...
Milla rubs me as innocent.
Jolie seems more outgoing, active and exciting.
I'd be happy with either of them
There are only two game movies I want to see. Starcraft and Diablo. Diablo is currently being filmed unless they lost their minds and canned it. Then again, I'd go see Alone in the Dark, Outcast, Half-Life, Warcraft, and probably many more I can't think of at the moment.
[appendico]
A Kingdom Hearts movie would be awesome. But probably would be dumbed down to a stupid Disney movie eventually.
There are only two game movies I want to see. Starcraft ...
Hmmm. I guess it has the story. Never really thought about it. Is this happening, or just some fantasy of yours?
I was surprised to see a nipple and breast in the opening of RE. But honestly I wasn't surprised at all with the butt shot in TR. For some reason writers and directors think that getting the attractive actress in the movie nude will help get the movie to sell. I bought RE and TR and both MKs for the storyline and action (since I'm a huge RE and MK fan and only played TR sparingly).
23: fantasy
Did I ever say Starcraft was an actual film? And why would a company work on two movies of it's games at once?
For some reason writers and directors think that getting the attractive actress in the movie nude will help get the movie to sell.
Yeah, it's called "sex sells." IMHO, if a movie is all that great to begin with, it shouldn't need sex to sell it.
Did I ever say Starcraft was an actual film?
Obviously not. If you had, I wouldn't have asked.
Meh... I have no time.. or friends to see a movie with... I have to wait for DVD
I've never understood why some people have this bizzar aversion to seeing movies alone. I enjoy movies better alone (at a theatre, at least). That way, I'm not tempted to talk, and I can just sit back and enjoy it.
Hmmm. I guess it has the story.
You're kidding, right? Starcraft's story is laughable at best. It has literally no depth. Sometimes, it doesn't even make sense. Indeed, the most interesting characters are Zerg (in particular, the Overmind); that alone says much about the quality of StarCraft's story.
Deus ex! Deus ex! Deus ex! (directed by the same person as spidey, apparently)
both MKs for the storyline and action
MK 1 had a good story, and nice action (who could forget Johnny Cage vs Scorpion?).. MK 2 just plain out-righted sucked, though. It had some nice action, but that was outweighed by extremely poor acting, cast changes, and a bad script (Shao Kahn is Raiden's brother? come on people), They never even properly explained how they were able to get to Earth (in the game it was because Shao Kahn was looking for his Wife, Sindel.. in the movie it was because they just felt like breaking the rules (and those "temporary passes"? jesus h. christ..)). And let's not forget those Animalities that were thrown in to try and impress us with unnecessary CG.
I would attribute the suckyness of MK:A to the change in director.. who was the lighting director in the first movie. It could've been so much better if they kept Paul Anderson.
Yeah, it's called "sex sells." IMHO, if a movie is all that great to begin with, it shouldn't need sex to sell it.
I totally agree, even if it isn't good to begin with. If I go to see an action movie, I don't want it slowed down with a love scene. If I want to see a love scene, I could go see a love story, or use my computer.
Sex honestly doesn't sell to me in the movie department. If I see a movie with a half naked chick on the cover, I'll need to look into it before I watch it. I didn't see the first RE in theatres, but I saw the second because the first was good.
Same thing with games.
If I want soft core porn, I'll get off my ass and buy some soft core porn.
[edit: oh dear god, the filter really made that sound funny. I'll leave it.
]
Rallymono: Agreed. When my friends and I go out to see / rent a movie, I often find myself saying "Don't waste 8 bucks so you can see a girl, just download some p0rn or go to a club". I watch an action movie to be entertained by unrealistic Kung-fu fighting!
Now Kill Bill was an exception to my rule
, even if I don't think Uma Thermon is really that hot. Still haven't seen the second one yet
edit:
Derez: I would sig that but I don't want my sig to be about porn
Kill Bill baffles me. What's the appeal? It's just an ugly woman (yes, Uma Thurman is ugly. Butt ugly. Come on, look at her!) in a yellow jumpsuit hitting people a lot. It's like the Matrix without all the good futurustic special effects and New Age mumbo-jumbo.
I agree the general consensus is that Uma Thermon is a wee bit old to be sexually appealing, but there was still some really kickass ninja sword fighting in that movie. Have you seen it?
[Rather than eluding to your swedish masculinity in not finding Uma T. hot and then putting an offense nullifying smily next to it, I have to agree she isn't exactly my cup of tea. Sexual appeal aside though, she knows how to swing a sword quite nicely thank you.]
Kill Bill was also some sort of parody, as I gather. The yellow suit is meant to be a riff on Bruce Lee or something. I dunno; it's not my genre and I haven't seen either movie. It's just my understanding that the movie rocks less from being "good" and more from having exceptional camera work, paying homage to this movie or that, etc.
Sheesh... "Paying homage" just sounds to me like a poor excuse for not making a good movie. And even if camera work needs to be good for the movie to be good, it can't save a movie from disaster if it lacks substance. And, well, Kill Bill lacks substance.
Wicked ninja sword fighting, agreed, but if I wanted to see that I'd just see the Matrix trilogy again. They have better effects, and a story about as thin.
I agree with the distinguished gentlemen to my left, with regard to their opinions on Kill Bill.

Sick boy, Swedish man-boobs are not for you to touch!
Oh, you meant Uma Thermon...
Hahaha! I am very sleepy right now, and for some reason, that makes my belly ache.
Yes, Uma Thurman is ugly. Butt ugly. Come on, look at her!
No she's not.
Anyway, Kill Bill 1 rocked! Kill Bill 2 rocked a bit less, but still rocked
I always thought Uma looked somewhat unusual, but certainly not ugly, and she looks pretty hot in the Kill Bills (especially when in training with Pei Mai) which, as the killer bunny said, rock.
I've never understood why some people have this bizzar aversion to seeing movies alone. I enjoy movies better alone (at a theatre, at least).
I think its because many people perversely see going to the cinema as a social event (why else would you sit in the dark silently for an hour or two, if not to socialise?). I myself usually go to the cinemas solo, and prefer it that way.
I'm one of those annoying chicks that walks in with 927349823 friends, laughs at really odd moments and asks questions or makes comments every 2 mins.
Oh cheesus. That reminds me. Me and my friend went to see Shark Tale. It is in no way a kids movie. There is no bad content or anything. But picture this. There are a bunch of 5-year-olds and there 50-year-old parents. All of the jokes are parodies of MTV movies and stuff like that
So me and my friend were the ONLY people laughing the whole time.
Would you mind posting your address? I have a letter bomb I would like to send you.
Me? I didn't know I was doing something bad.
No. Manjuela.
I've never understood why some people have this bizzar aversion to seeing movies alone. I enjoy movies better alone (at a theatre, at least).
I feel awkward going solo to anywhere that's considered to be a popular place to socialize. I don't even like walking through the mall alone
It's like one big uncomfortable silence.... and I don't enjoy uncomfortable silences.
I'd rather go with a friend, so long as they're quiet during the movie. Thankfully I don't have any friends who talk during movies.
Although one friend of mine tends to ask questions he doesn't want the answers to, before we watch a movie (if I've seen it already).
"Does she die in the end?"
"Is Character A in bed with Character B?"
I've never understood why some people have this bizzar aversion to seeing movies alone. I enjoy movies better alone (at a theatre, at least).
That's why I try to avoid movie theatres altogether. There will always be stupid people making noise either by talking or by proxy (candy bags etc). All I want is silence. And that I can get by renting a DVD and watching it at home.
Jackie Chan movies are a different thing though. They're best watched with a group of people and maybe some beer.
Carl Olsson: What did my sister ever do to you?
Poor Diana, everyone only remembers Manjula.
I'd much rather see someone make Monkey Island - The Movie...
Deus Ex - The Movie droolage
Thief - The Movie droolage
And the best of all:
Anachronox - The Movie droolage squared
But knowing Hollywood, they'd screw that up by insert romances and whatnot into the plot.
Pong - The Movie... lets see that one mmkay
Starcraft had a story. It's in the manual, and in the strategy guides too, IIRC. It at least pass as an action movie.
Deus Ex, drools. Thief drools. System Shock 1, 2, and 3. OMFG
I for one think Dune would make a cool movie!
Anachronox
Never heard of it. Reminds me of that horribly hard SNES game pronounced "as-tan-axe" or something to that affect.

People go to movies together to socialize.
People go to movies alone to experience a movie.
Some people want bring their friends to watch a movie at their house but want them the STFU during it. That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. "I want you to watch the movie with me, but you better not stuffing talk during it. I don't want to know you exist."
Yeah, Starcraft has a pretty good story. More than most Hollywood flicks, anyway.
Raynor is the man.
No, employee #2-4601 is the man.
I for one think Dune would make a cool movie!
Something like this? Man, you're right. They should make a Dune movie.
-Maverick
Well, some people won't understand a joke, unless it's in joke tags.

He said a Dune movie. Not a hideous abomination loosely based on Dune and bearing its name.
Not a hideous abomination loosely based on Dune and bearing its name.
The name... has become a killing word?
I'd much rather see someone make Monkey Island - The Movie...
Me too. I heard they were going to make it but finally the project was cancelled
But you can always watch Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. It reminds me a lot about Monkey island.
They were? Never knew about that. Shame they didn't though...
But there's no monkeys in Pirates of the Caribbean!
You're wrong. There's even an undead monkey in Pirates of the Caribbean
Oh yeah, that's right... but then... there's not ENOUGH monkeys in it!
You linked to those without porn coming up?
Anyway, this is rather hilarious.
When ever i hear/see the words 'Uma' and 'Thurman' i think of a particular scene in Stargåte.
Daniel: "I think you wrote the name of the planet where we'll find the lost city into the crossword."
Jack: "...Bit of a jump."
Daniel: "Why else would you do that?"
Sam: "The clue for seven down is Celestial body... And he wrote 'Uma Thurman'."
Jack: "Yes..."
Daniel: "It HAS to mean something!"
I think movies made like [url http://www.asciimation.co.nz/index.html] are cool
. How about all that action stuff as ascii movies now (or, eh games)??
I love the way Stargate adds humour to the sci-fi! I wish the Star Trek series did that more..
Stargåte. Å.
Stargåte. Å.
Um, no.
It's neither an A nor an Å. But an Å would be closer to the actual glyph used.
BTW: Just saw the first episode of the new Stargate: Atlantis spin-off yesterday. I'm not yet convinced..
Give it a few episodes. If you enjoy Stargate SG-1, you'll enjoy Atlantis.
