Love my toys....

Anyone else just have to go out and buy more "toys"? Just went out and purchased a new .22 hangun (Ruger KP512 Target). I can't wait to go out and shoot it.

Some past toys:
- My first PC I purchased was from Gateway and of course had to get the most expensive which ran about 4k then. Now that I build my own, that price is a joke. Never again.
- Of course all my video game consoles. When I got halo I just had to buy another xbox and halo.
- Oh yeah, had to go buy a 53" widescreen tv for better video game experience.
- Have an 89 mustang and wanted to buy a new one for a while so I did in 1999, decked out of course.
- Got a new 99 yamaha bike YZF R6. Had it about two years. Got rid of it for my own good. Went way too fast on that thing.
- When I was into magic the gathering a while back, I had to buy the power 9.

There are more I'm sure..... Anyone else have "toys" they just had to go out and buy?

Being single helps quite a bit. Can spend all my money on myself! Sharing bills with a room mate helps some too :)

You could spend it on me too. How about getting me a new lab computer? ;D

Heh; I ain't that wealthy. :)

But I got a nice tax refund this year. Bought a Depth Charge recolor on a whim (would have prefered the original color scheme, but I'm amazed I found it at all). Bought Megatokyo T-Shirts, and GameSkin ones are in the mail. One of the MT ones was actually a good conversation starter at my church, where I met an artist who's big on MT, video games, and Transformers (seperated at birth!?), who also confirmed something I've been suspecting; my church is full of Homestar Runner fans. ;D Buying online swag is a rather expensive indulgence though; won't be doing that again for a bit.

Lets see ... a bunch of books, a very comfy new bike seat, 6 new albums in the last few weeks, Megatokyo Volume 1 (found a copy by luck at the comic store. Last one they had; owner says they're selling like crazy). Guess that's it for recent toys, though I still have quite a bit of extra cash to burn. I thought of buying some video games, but I'm not stupid. :) I do that and TMS production will go back down the flusher ...

Yeah, thats a must on some bikes. Usually the regular seats are just painfull.

Yeah, we don't want that to happen ;)

What Zaphos said.

Very cool character, but the recolour isn't too great. :P ;)

I just got a new MS Internet Keyboard ($30cad, -$10cad gift card :D) to replace the one my cat broke last week ;) (one guess as to why I've been absent). Well, he didn't break the keyboard, just the DIN5->ps/2 connector, but I was just going to get a plain 10-15$ keyboard, and the converter is near the same price, and a spare keyboard is always usfull (ain't it? ;)).

I'm waiting for a call. I hope they call me and say "yes! you can start Monday!"
If they do, i am no longer unemployed. ;D
And after some months of work and savings, i would go and buy one of those new AmigaONE computers. And then just sit and wait for AmigaOS 4 to be released. ("really soon now...")

Last toy I got...hmm...

A $15 Cut Capo and some picks. And I bought Alone in the Dark 4 for $3.99 at Circuit City. Still haven't tried it. :-/ That's pretty much everything I've bought this year.

...I need a job.

I go on majorly stupid buying sprees when I get overly manic. 1 and a halfish years ago, I bought:

  • ChenMing SoHo file server case

  • PCI IDE controller card

  • 2x80GB Seagate Barracuda (+ one I got for my Bday == 3)

  • MSI KT7266 Pro2 RU

  • 2x256MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM

  • Evangelon DVD Boxset (Anime)

  • Kiki's Delivery Service (Anime:Movie)

  • Castle in the Sky (Anime:Movie)

  • Megatokyo sad girl in snow blanket

  • Megatokyo Volume 1

  • Megatokyo Mug (the mug rules!)

  • Sennheiser HD 497 Headset/Headphones

Last summer, when I moved to this apartment, I got:

  • AMD Athlon 2400+

  • DLink 8Port Switch

  • 2x10/100BaseTX NIC

Just before Christmas I got:

  • Morex Cubid 2699R Black Case

  • VIA EPIA 10000 Nemiah motherboard

  • 1x256MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM (which was fried on delivery, and I picked up a $60cad 512MB PC2700 DDR SDRAM chip to replace it)

  • ATI TV Wonder Pro Remote Edition.

  • Hauppauge WinTV 401 DBX

  • 80GB Seagate Barracuda (thats 4 total now)

  • Slimline laptop DVDROM to fit my slim case (bloody expensive things.. I should have spent the extra $30 or so for the combo DVDROM/CDRW unit :()

  • Slotload DVDROM (for my main machine)

And just lately:

  • 3 domain names (cheap)

  • 2x100ft CAT5e cables (cheap)

Note however that the only stuff that I'm/I've even come close to affording is the two items in that last list, and even then the first item has left me without grocery money for a little while :o

So yeah, stupid is me.

You are basically right on the button here. It was the first bike I ever touched. First time I got on that bike I scared myself half to death. First time I tried to do a "wheelee?" about crapped myself. First time going about 160mph I was like OMG, that was sweet! But looked back and thought how stupid it was since I was still an amature. So yeah, got rid of it for my own good. Was an awsome bike tho. Had many compliments from experianced bike riders when I let them ride it. Could only imagine what the R1 would of been like :o

The pic of the R1 you provided gave me memories of the R6 I had :'( man that was a fun bike. Another reason I got rid of it was no friends to ride with. I was the only one with a bike...
