Wow, I concluded it a long time ago but now it's just...that website is horribly programmed. Why in the world wouldn't they track users by IP address in a little text file or something? Why would they rely on cookies? COOKIES?! Programming should be fun. That's why I hate Java. |

Someone just contributed $200, so succeeding with donations isn't out of the question anymore really either.

Just to thank everyone, regardless of outcome, I put up a couple git repos (and a Windows binary) with source to my GUI library and a brand new level editor (for M2, but also used in Baryon and can be used for most square tile based games), and also the Monster RPG 2 tile set which I'm releasing (all of it) under the GIYOLL (crazy license I talked about here a while back.) Was that one sentence? More info here: http://www.nooskewl.com/content/sneak-peek-some-monster-rpg-2-tools

I think I understand now how it works. The creators of that page didn't make it with the intention of giving away $500. But instead with drawing clicks to their site. So they always put the project with second most votes on top (manipulating the counter themselves). This in turn prompts the project with most (in reality) votes to ask supporters and relatives and everyone to visit the site and vote for their project. Without the manipulation Monster RPG would have easily won, without a lot of people even voting a second time (iBeg doesn't seem to have advertised for it at all. $500 wouldn't have mattered for them after all). With their little trick Magic Pixel Games on the other hand mobilized a lot of Monster RPG supporters to go back to the site every day and click. The only problem with the theory is that I'm not entirely sure what they get from the visits to their voting page... -- |

It does seem a little odd. Based on how little movement was caused by a single vote a week ago, it should take hundreds (if not thousands) of votes by now to pull ahead by a few percent. I don't think either game has that kind of support.

Several people told me they were watching it for the past few hours, and iBeg jumped about 10% almost instantly. I just find it very hard to believe that all of their voters vote at the same time, especially when they haven't advertised anything.

I voted for Monster RPG if it helps. As for the others, please don't do a run/jump game (Adventure Jump) they're about as bad and as numerous as the fart apps of a couple of years ago. iBeg just sounds wrong. Neil. wii:0356-1384-6687-2022, kart:3308-4806-6002. XBOX:chucklepie |

It could still help. I don't know if they'd get that many votes in broad daylight (North America time.)

$250 and 17 hours left for MRPG2. Damn I wish I could just top that off... Programming should be fun. That's why I hate Java. |

Buried on the 4th page on Indiegogo. Was hoping to be near the front with this much time left. Oh well! Can only wait and see!

I love platformers. There can never be enough of them. I even funded Adventure Jump a few weeks ago -- |

I think first person shooters are fine. Then again, I don't buy every FPS that I see, unlike many people. The same applies to MMORPGs and platform games. I set high standards before I buy them. Programming should be fun. That's why I hate Java. |
