I can't rap English :(, just some seconds after I finish the song I can understand everything, but after an hour when I hear it again, I can understand no shit... Anyways, I'm going to post it because I'm bored... ;D

I did it in less than an hour so yhea... It sucks, I don't have the same time I had years ago :( just a minute...

media player

There is a lot of people who know the situation around here
Yhea The shit around us
Yes politicians around us

they like to talk more than what they like to do
and want us to believe thins that they'll never do
It's almost the same shit around the world
but here you can take it all and multiply it by two

When when this shit will ever end
I'm tired of this man I cant handle it

You always say things are going well
but the people can smell the shit miles away

Do you think we're stupid or that we can't see?
we can see what you're doing man we're always here
you can go to another country and talk you bla bla bla
but you can't come here and pretend that I'm always fine

When you change the laws
And try to play Robin Hood
and all my people suffer because of you fool
you better think twice
the next time you take a decision
because we can't wait a whole life to fix this issue

Buy a pair of cheesy sun glasses and shave your head and we'll call you Mr. Worldwide! :D

I liked all of it, but I liked the part where you rapped in Spanish more.

I've been meaning to record something else... :-/ One song verse in particular is probably the most difficult one that I know of. I was feeling like it so this morning I recorded it right before leaving for work. :-X It's not great, and I forgot to amplify it so you'll probably have to crank your output up just to hear it again, but I digress... I'll amplify it when I get home... >:(

Append: Amplified version. :-X

And the music? Man it's funnier with music. I just heard the original song and I think you're actually singing it faster :o.

Edit:
Man... I was searching for mr worldwide, I didn't know that was the surname or whatever of Pitbull hahaha I have heard about him but nothing else, and he's also called Armando hahahaha WTF?! Now I know what you meant jmasterx, pretty funny! :D.

Here is only the music, that way Elias can rap too.

I was searching for mr worldwide

Made me remember the news thing about two years ago (2009/2010) where a guy had the nick Mr World because he knew everything about the world/cultures/etc., but had never gone outside his home town.

AMCerasoli: You seem to have trouble writing rhymes in English. Or perhaps rap just doesn't rhyme in your native tongue. :-/ In any case, it sounded quite good when you started rapping in Spanish. :D At the same time, you did have some clever rhymes in English, but struggled to make them rhyme due to your accent. Maybe we could work together on something (it'll likely fail, but who knows, maybe it'll be fun). :)

In the meantime, thread steal. >:( Here's a rushed attempt to do Dre's "Forgot About Dre". I screw up a bunch, and I was singing along to the music video so there's a short bit that's missing from Eminem's verse and the ending chorus. I also screwed up a few times, but that's to be expected. >:(

I talk a bunch in the beginning, and I have a big loud fan on right next to me, and amplifying didn't help much since I'm louder later on when I'm rapping. IOW, there's like 2 minutes of me talking that you can barely hear. Skip past it (I start around 2:12) or crank your system up if you want to hear it.

Well is not the same when you rap with no music.

@bamccaig - YES! Sorry guys but if you listen carefully, and take into consideration all the salient recent post wise info mofo, bam has taken my 'get some skillz' remark, stepped up not 1, not 2, not 3 but 7 gears and produced!

Seriously bam I know what it takes to make track, let alone to write the vocals, let alone to make them relevant, let alone to to make them sound good, let alone to write the music etc etc ETC ETC ETC ETC

You done real good bamccaig! ;D 8-) :P

I didn't produce the track. :( That is AMCerasoli's track from earlier in this thread. :-[ I just wrote the lyrics, recorded the vocals, and mixed them together. 8-)

Ok so it's kind of funny, but I still think rapping with a different voice than your real one is dumb, and I can tell you're doing that. Rap should be pretty much like speech.

I don't like rap that's about some stupid beef or ego. And that's about 90% of it. Rap about something important.

I'd consider that a good song. The lyrics on screen are wrong though.

Man! Good job Bam! That recording quality sounds really good! Congratulations, I'll work in the next track! YHEA!

Edit: Trent I don't know why you said that Bam is changing his voice, doesn't look that way to me... But if you think about it, for example when I get angry I know I sound different you know...

I agree with Trent. Except I generalize it even more; I hate any song with ego-boosting or beef-related lyrics.

In fact I've been so fed up with meaningless-emotionless lyrics, I mostly listen to instrumental music now.

Boasting - Lacrae (feat. Anthony Evans said:

If we fought for our rights we'd be in Hell today,

I think that's a stupid thing to say, but I'm not sure that I understand what he means by it. I'm not really sure what that song is about either, but it sounds like a Christian song and I'm pretty sure that "boasting" is considered sinful, so it seems somewhat self-contradicting.

As for the content of lyrics, it's best when people remain honest. If they're speaking about themselves then it's best that they speak about who they are, what they've been through, and what they know or are familiar with. If that happens to be guns and drugs and street life then so be it. If it happens to be a broken home or a broken heart then so be that. I think that it's OK to exaggerate a bit and rap about who you are inside, or who you'd like to be, as well though. That said, care should be taken to not misrepresent yourself. In particular, music is art, but when you're not performing then care should be taken to be more honest about who you are, I think.

Ultimately people usually listen to music because it feels good. That is usually because it expresses emotion, and allows them to express their own emotions. Sometimes happy, but in my experience mostly sad or angry (I don't really know many happy songs, and more so when I'm happy I usually don't need something to help me express it, nor do I need to express it).

Also, this:

video

Also, keep in mind that battle rapping is at the core of rap music. Rap has a nature of being adversarial. In many ways rappers are like boxers slinging rhymes instead of punches. Beef in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing, so long as it doesn't spiral out of control, and is ideally restricted to the microphone and kept off of the streets. Some of the best songs are dis tracks. To some extent beefs are just a natural way for rappers to size each other up, similar to how males typically face off in the wild to determine who is dominant. I think that it helps in many ways to improve the art too. It pushes people to do better because their reputation is at stake and people are paying extra attention (especially their adversary, who will jump at the opportunity to point out flaws and weaknesses).

It's not all black and white though (no pun intended..). Not everyone leads the same type of life as you or I. It's not always as simple as you think. I think that most people are ignorant of rap in general and don't understand what they're hearing when they hear it. It's also easy to lose sight of where the line between music and real life is.

"Sounds like it's a Christian song"... No really? I wonder what gave that away. :P

Never heard the song before myself, but what's so hard about it to understand? Or do you only understand rap songs that are all ghetto-like "My shorts are a'fallin' way below my skinny knees. I shoot you $##@$@# in the face before you say pleeze."

I'll help you out. He's boasting about somebody else, not himself. Like a sappy man saying, "I wouldn't be anything without my wife." See 2 Corinthians 10:17 for the holy book version.

The phrase you quoted might be understood like:

I'm a ghetto gangsta' up against civilization.
I'm fightin' fo' my rights to be a humiliation.
If I pulled up my shorts, then I'd see
That's the only reason why people laugh at me.
