I found a dog! |

Yesterday, I was on my lunch break driving towards Taco Bell (Yeah, I know), and I found this guy running through the streets in the pouring rain. I gave him a bath last night, and posted a craigslist ad and a FidoFind ad. Hopefully I can find it's owner. Any ideas on how I might find the owner? Thanks edit: I'm thinking about naming him Babbage for the interim. -------------------------------------------------- |

Don't you put tattoos or RF id tags on dogs over there?

I'm not sure about tattoos, but I think most dogs get id chips put in them. I'm guessing that an animal shelter would be able to read it. I'll need to call them. -------------------------------------------------- |

Yeah. That would probably give the contact details of the owner anyway

When I think that my cat is larger than that dog, I can only smirk. Especially since Jasper is a runt for his breed. I assume he's a mix, or was otherwise not fed properly after he was born... Jasper's about 15lbs, quite long nose to tail, and Maine Coon's start at 15lbs, and thats for the females. Males are normally 20-40lbs. {"name":"maine-coon.jpg","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/3\/0\/308d2eb98d961fc197a2f5cf42c977b7.jpg","w":1600,"h":1200,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/3\/0\/308d2eb98d961fc197a2f5cf42c977b7"} {"name":"coonbig.jpg","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/f\/c\/fc931b487676caa29700de143261baad.jpg","w":800,"h":600,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/f\/c\/fc931b487676caa29700de143261baad"} Who needs a small dog when you can get a big docile cat? Seriously, when I get a dog, it'll be one of a: blood hound, golden retriever, or Sheltie/Collie. -- |

Be honest. There's only one dog in this picture: Quote: Does the same work for humans? No. All humans are equal. Only some are more equal than others.

Like I said, he's a runt of the breed. Plus this breed has a LOT of fluffy fur around their face and neck. Makes their heads look a lot larger and rounder than they really are. -- |

I did one of those "insert your image here to find your celebrity look-alike" and got him (Richard Stallman if anyone does not know) :/ That was a sad day.

RF frequency chips are not always useful. A dog was found earlier this year with one. They checked the chip, but the installer had gone out of business years ago. Thomas Fjellstrom said: Plus this breed has a LOT of fluffy fur around their face and neck. Interesting evoloutionary trick. The woman across the street has a miniture (toy, teacup?) poodle. I was talking with her and the dog about two months ago. The dog is very shy around strangers, so I bent down and held out my hand to let her sniff me. She sniffed and held out her paw as if she wanted me to hold it. As I took it, Chrissie told me the dog doesn't like men. Apparently, I'm not a man. You whistle like my brother, which is to say, poorly. I also think those little dogs are useless and owning one is dumb (more so than owning a dog at all). Lolli has been missing since Sunday. I fear the worst. The temperature is very low. We might get snow tomorrow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Years of thorough research have revealed that what people find beautiful about the Mandelbrot set is not the set itself, but all the rest. |

I had a dog disappear once. I followed its tracks through the snow (one of the few times Kentucky actually had snow) for hours, but never found her. She probably got picked up by the pound.

bamccaig said: I also think those little dogs are useless and owning one is dumb You don't own a dog because it's useful. Owning a bigger dog, unless it's a dangerous one (which would mean you are in danger of it too), isn't useful either. Maybe 1 on a million times a big mean dog will stop a burglar... The same as you don't have a baby because it's going to be useful to you some day... or at least you shouldn't.
