Allegroite Photographers? Post Your Pictures!

After reading the Chernobyl thread with its pictures I was wondering who else here has some great pictures to share?

I recently picked up photography as a hobby when I moved out for my job. I wanted to get out and explore my new surroundings and something about coding all day at work and then coming home to sit at a computer didn't sound appealing.

Anyway, here is my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/frankyr/

And here are some of my favorite pictures from the last year (click the links to go to the flickr page for hi-res versions):

Ville de Québec. View of the old city. It turns 400 years this year. That's not old for europe but its ancient for north america.

I wish I had a camera. I see so many amazing things while walking around campus that I'd like to capture on film. Ah well, maybe once the paychecks start coming in from my new job I can get one.

While searching for some photos of campus to show you what I mean I came across this and nearly lost my eyesight.

Hey, FMC, the Danube one looks like what we have there at Lyon.

BTW, here is your night view with some noise reduction:

Mark Oats, awesome picture! A bit too big though.

Goalie: Why is your picture so wide? Doesn't seem like a panorama.

Ron, perhaps because Goalie is having a big camera ;-p

Sadly I lost most of the pictures I ever took with the camera I bought a few years ago (which got stolen a couple years ago). I managed to save my favourite (I didn't get to take many :()

Ah, you reminded me that I have to go through my last batch of photos taken three months ago and select the good ones. I'll try to do it soon and post something.

Not much of a photography buff but I'd still like to contribute.

It's a bit blurry when viewed in full size. There's another photo where I focus on the water drops on its back that is not blurry, but I like it less.

AYCABTM!

I've copied TF's cat and Mark's cat to my desktops on workstations at work.

I really wish I had the original. The version on my site is a rather compressed, scaled version, hardly 4.1mpix.

Bascially, I blurred everything in the background (you can especially see this to the right of her if you look at that black metallic thing (which is the leg of a table)) to make the foreground stand out more and look sharper.

Putting your camera into macro mode would have done that just by focusing on the foreground.
