| The Problem with Allegro5: |

I have noticed that it is taking much too long for the devs to release the next version of Allegro, Allegro 5. The problem with Allegro 5 is the fact that we don't have a cool code name for it like so many other open source projects that have code names for their releases. Fedora Core 6 was code named Zod for example So clearly Allegro 5 will never be released if there is not a concerted effort by the Allegro community to decide upon and designate a codename for Allegro 5. If it were C++, people would still be drawing pretty UML class diagrams and talking about doing instead of doing. In 2012, a year after implementation would be started, someone would notice that the design is not good enough, then they argue a bit about what's True OOP and what's not and go back to UML modeling, only to dissolve the whole project 2 years later. -- |
