So who is going to bother with this pointless tradition? I've never understood this and the ones I set I never even attempt to actually meet.

Because just like Christmas New Years and resolutions are a tradition (at least in the US). Though, I've learned my life is too unpredictable to even bother with resolutions so I just don't mess with them. Last year was the last year I made one.
I mean, it's silly to say "well, I need to lose weight now but... it's tradition to start on the 1st so I'll just wait." Then a few months later that fails and the line then is "well, there's always next year." Don't wait because other idiots are waiting. Act now, fail sooner and you'll be ahead of the curve.

That used to be my resolution, well one of them. After three years of not achieving them, I figure why bother making them.
I already started (and completed) my resolution to lose 10 pounds (I figured "why wait" as well). I guess my resolution now is to make sure I keep in my healthier habits.

I am going to The Orange Bowl in Miami on January 1.
It makes me happy inside knowing that my puny university's qualifying for the game has greatly upset all the big name schools who wanted a piece of the 18 million dollar payout.

For 2013, it is my intention to draw a lot more and to start with oil painting.

My resolution for 2012 was to not keep any of my resolutions for 2012. You tell me whether I succeeded.
How are we supposed to know whether you put your resolution in your pocket to carry it around at all times or whether you threw it out the window, thus not "keeping" it.

Don't know about having any resolutions, personally, but I was playing around with creating a game in A5 last year that contained one...
...so maybe that stands good for this year, if I can just get my head together again.

I found myself saying "Oh, okay" at my day job when given directions. We have someone at my night job who does the same thing. This person is nt considered intelligent and may only have his job because the union will not let us fire anyone unless they are caught stealing or knowingly put themselves or someone else in serious danger. I resolve to stop saying that phrase because I do not want to appear or feel like him.
