The secret meaning behind my avatar is somewhat related to the Pink Floyd song 'the wall'. My favorite super hero growing up was Iron Man. He wore a suit of armor that protected him from harm. The Pink Floyd song was about an emotional wall, and the armored figure (ROM the space knight) is emotional armor.

I got bored for mine. It's the generic Level 70 Orc Warlock avatar from the WoW forums.

Don't remember what my last one was. Mine don't have deep meaning; they're cheap flash-in-the-pan that's gone in two months.

Mine is a slightly stylized glider from the Game of Life. The flames are from my being sacrificed, provided by the Dett man.

In about 2 weeks, I'll have a new avatar from my IP "Presidential Kung-Fu Showdown", which used to just be a demo, but somehow everyone I describe it to says they want to buy several copies, so I'm making it into a full game. Besides, I have to have a fleshed-out IP for my drawing & visualization class. (yay all-around game development degrees, am I right?)

I really only mess with images about once a month, and avatars once a year. Judging by the times, I may create an pseudo 80x80 later this year or the next, and if I remember to, I may even set it. Or not, things like this are hard to judge.

I stand by my previous statement. Although I've heard the age of consent is 16 in Michigan, USA. That's a little more reasonable, but still IMO too young.

Age of concent here in Canada is 14. Though since a kid isn't legally an adult till 18-20, the parents can still charge a person with assult or something iirc.

Age of consent is often tricky. Here, a 22-year-old can have sex with a 16-year-old safely, but a 23-year-old can only have sex with an 18-year-old to avoid charges.

Yup. Same sorts of rules apply up here as well. Something like a 4 year gap between persons. Even if they are both below the age limit (18).

No, you're wrong. Here in Canada the age of consent is 14, however, it is still illegal for an adult to have sexual relations with anybody below the age of 18. Therefore, if you're 14-17 you can have sex with 14-17 year olds. If you're above 18 you can have sexual relations with persons 18+ years old ONLY.

That sounds like a reasonable law, although the 16-22 law isn't too extreme either.

In the context of this discussion I'd say it was a fairly assumed implication.

The parents cannot charge a person with assault for sleeping with their daughter. If she is above 14 and consents to another who is 14-17 then it is completely legal.

HOWEVER, if that person is 18+ and their daughter is below 18 then it's statutory rape or similar and they are guilty of a criminal offense. It's really none of the parents' business (fathers may choose to kill if they want to, but that's ignoring the law ).

Do you need artwork, though? I remember reading some post at some point saying that your avatar then - a picture of your face - looked like something you'd imagine flying in a space shooter. Pondering that, I concluded that it'd look pretty neat with eye-beams and missiles flying out of the nose.;)
