Author's Description: Diablo II DS1 Editor, and its sources.
This is a WYSIWYG map editor for Blizzard's Diablo II and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. A knowledge of the Diablo II Moding in general will help to use it.

Making a Map editor for Diablo 2 is a never-ending quest, it'll never be good enough ;) Not mentioning that there's still some unknown datas (but very few). Well, editing a .DS1 Map is now possible at least, but changing the overall layout of the levels require code editing in the .DLL (and that's still a mystery in there). So you can change all the gfx of the Dark Wood and its objects, but you can't deconnect it from the Tamoe Highland for instance.

What's New:

1.00b
Created a demo version, so those that don't have the game Diablo II will still be able to try the editor. They will just have the few monster/object animations that the 2 sample maps uses, but other than that it's a fully working version.

After 1.5 year, the editor is now stable and good enough to leave the 'Alpha' state.

  • 10Incredibly amazing!
  • 10besides being just an impressive work, it also does it's job (editing diablo2 maps) nicely. Which allows us hobby coders to take a look at the heap of features that are embedded in the d2 map. So this tool is also a great way to get some ideas on how to tackle programs. If you have d2, get this program and take a look. It's worth it.
