IOTD: Early terrain generator

Early terrain generator, by kronoman
Well, this is a terrain generator that I'm working on for my future game, Kraptor 2. It will be the sequel to Kraptor, another game that I made, but this time in 3D, hopefully. Actually the "engine" is very crude, and I have lots of bugs, specially with lights and smooth scrolling. Probably, if I manage to reach a higher stage of development, I will try to get more help, because this will be a open source project.

Looks good. Does your 3D engine use voxels? Kinda reminds me of Commanche. The name made me chuckle, I'm dumb! - Raymond Jekabson
Cool stuff! It reminds me a bit of GL-117. If you get this finished, I'll surely look into it! - Michael Faerber
Greetings fellow gnome user. This screenshot reminds me of old school 3D console games, with the fog covering up any pop-up in the background. Good stuff! - Squirrel Havoc
Se ve bastante bien - walter kraxberger
congrats. your IOTD is now IOTW - Jim Sinha
That looks seriously nice. - dthompson
Nice look there ![]()
Looks nice! Keep up the good work! ![]()
First, thanks for all the comments. Well, yes, looks more or less like Commanche, but no, is not using voxels, the floor is a real 3D mesh ; I'm using AllegroGL to glue Allegro with OpenGL. Currently, I solved the light and scrolling trouble, but I still have a lot of other troubles, mostly with performance, I need to optimize my code ![]()
