Typical TDS. I'm glad you don't have such a cavalier attitude toward programming, you'd be Piccolo all over again.

Re the wuflu wasn't a thing when the riots were happening and the Democratic mayors and governors let it run rampant. It was especially flavorful when that CNN clip claiming the rioters were peaceful as they set fire to CNN headquarters. I could go on and on, don't tempt me.

I just wanna live a happy, successful life. :(

But Republicans wanna make it legal to discriminate against me (queer/trans). For the free market or something. ???

Anyway, I'll be voting for Joe Biden. Thanks, Google, for brainwashing me. 8-)

Making it illegal to refer to someone according to their X/Y genetics and their naughty bits (not counting surgery) is pretty facist if you ask me. It's like those people who are totally convinced they'd be better off if (they didn't have a right arm or whatever)[1].

EDIT: Yeah I forget how to use the linky stuff, so sue me.

My previous employer (Allstate) had mandatory diversity/inclusivity training for my entire floor on trans issues. That's 100-odd peeps. This was organized by manager after I talked with her.

My current team (at Truist), everyone has their pronouns in their bio. Mine are they/she. All my coworkers respect it. My name in the system is my correct name, not my deadname (with few exceptions for legal reasons). If you were on my team and misgendered me you wouldn't last. ;D

I work for a big bank, make big bucks, and live in a big city. 8-)

Now mind you, I don't disagree with someone thinking they're a different sex than they were born as, I do disagree with pushing the agenda that they're entitled to special privileges. It's not something to be ashamed of, but it's not something to be proud of, either.

Most people are sick and tired of this sort of thing. Reality bytes bites, and I hope we get a narcissistic billionaire as president instead of the communist agenda in spades (everyone is equally bad off).

Equal rights isn't special privileges. :3

I shouldn't be denied medical care, housing, employment, or government services because I'm trans, but Republicans want it that way.

see for example: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/06/12/868073068/transgender-health-protections-reversed-by-trump-administration

Trump is a billion dollars in debt. He's the worst businessman in history.

Sources please.

If he got his son to make deals like Hunter Biden for megabucks with Ukraine, China and Russia, it'd help, no?

I should suck on the government tit because I admittedly smoke too much? And drink too much Pepsi /slap myself for saying such a thing.

Anyway, I'm deep into night cycle from my graveyard cab driving shift but I got tonight off, I gotta crash, teach ya later.

Why do you think he owes so little in taxes in the US? It's because he's been bleeding money.

He has a secret Chinese bank account too.

As soon as Trump gets kicked out of office, he's going to prison.

You want sources, read his tax returns.

Would you consider Forbes a reliable source?

He has a secret Chinese bank account too.

Not so secret.

On the brighter side, a federal judge in Boston blocked a Trump administration order to make it harder to sue landlords and mortgage lenders over housing discrimination.

I think that this has already been debunked.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-google-search-senate-idUSKCN1UA223

Are big tech companies really biased against conservatives, or do conservative sources of information just happen to be less reliable (and therefore, less useful for the user searching something)? :P Maybe next time include the word "biased" and Google will find what you're looking for. :P

Or I could just use a search engine that doesn't have a political axe to grind, sucha as swisscows.com.

It's been clear for years now that Google is altering search results, and trying to influence politics in other ways, it's not just Twitter, Facebook, YouTube doing this.

Remember when they blocked Tulsi Gabbard's campaign ad when she was still running for president?

Or did you try researching The Proud Boys when Biden lied about them in the first presidential debate? Their websites don't even show up on Google, you have to use other search engines. And you couldn't link to them on Facebook.

Or try googling the youtubers Tim Pool or Sargon of Akkad, you don't get their channel link in the search results at all.

And there are probably an abundance of other examples. I switched to DuckDuckGo a couple of years ago. If everyone does this, Google's shenanigans will matter less. And they also don't track you or profile you.

I watched much of the Senate committee hearings about section 230. The hearing was obviously a partisan witch hunt for purposes of scaring big tech into stop fact checking for the election.

That said, there does need to be more transparency and consistent rules in place for platforms that serve as the de facto internet. Why? Not because those companies don't have the right to do what they want (they do) but because it's in the general public's best interest to have an unbiased way to do content moderation. In essence, if you want to enjoy these particular rights as a provider then you must adhere to these particular industry standard content moderation guidelines.

The lack of moderation is NOT the answer. And the Republicans hate to admit it, but they can blame Donald Trump's lack of filter on Twitter as the last straw that forced big techs hand. His blatantly direct lies and indirect lies (ooh, I was only re-tweeting some falsehood) and harmful disinformation (e.g. inject bleach) have given them no choice.

The Republicans had one great question they asked over and over: "If your algorithms are fair and content moderation is being applied fairly, then why are big name Republicans the ones being targeted most frequently?"

None of the CEOs decided to answer this appropriately but the answer is because the President and his hand-picked unqualified group of enablers are disproportionately spreading lies and actively against science! If this were a regular Republican president who had a moral compass, then none of this content moderation would have ever been an issue. Bush Jr or Sr would have never been moderated, and so on.

Also, of course algorithms favor scientific, scholarly articles and those sites that are more closely associated with that because those are based in fact. The consensus data will be closer to the top, as it should. This reflects reality. It's not Google's fault that Republicans discredit science as a hoax. If 90% of climate scientists believe in human caused global warming, then yes, it should appear more prominently search results. All opinions are not equal. :P

No, it was because they censored the Hunter Biden laptop story, for obviously political reasons. This kind of bias is the whole problem. You can push as many lies about Trump as you like, but apparently information that might hurt Joe Biden's campaign gets stopped. It's disturbing, and this pattern has been obvious in Big Tech for a few years no. Check out Project Veritas' undercover reporting, for instance.

I watched it. The focus was not on that story. Almost every question was specifically about why they "censor" (apply fact checks) to Trump but not Biden. Yet none of the Republicans could point to a single Biden tweet that they thought was erroneous. ::)
