I would argue if I could find a line I wouldn't agree with.

Append:
Actually I disagree it's ok to seize computers and take any destructive measures before there's a strict proof & court order. I don't believe cyber-crime is that much of a problem that it deserves such attention. Nevertheless authorities decide that & they oppose me worldwide. Oh well.

Append1:
OK, in certain cases it is. But certainly not regarding copyrights :-/

Also, the site's EULA says the files can go away at any time. So you really can't claim anything about the files.

As for the subscription, not sure how that works. If MegaUpload screwed up, would they give you a refund? (I doubt it).

Also, its the Govt, they don't have to pay for shit. Same with the police. They can bust into your place on a whim, break your door, and not have to pay for it, even if they "got the wrong house". I think you have to sue them in small claims most times to get anything for your troubles.

Well, if anybody came to your house and kicked in the front door you'd have to take him (or her) to small claims to get any money...

Nah, reasonable people would pay for the repairs.

Nah, reasonable people would realize the rip off to pay someone to repair it and to it themselves.

The majority of mail is spam, does that mean we should shut down all email?

If the majority of mail being sent from a server is spam, then yes, you should black list and no longer accept mail from that server. Stupid question.

But 90% of all email is spam, so might as well just shut the entire system down.

MegaUpload is shut down because (allegedly) the majority of its content was illegal and they did nothing about it.

A mail server is black listed because the majority of its content is spam and the owners do nothing about it.

See how that works? :P

See how that works?

Most of the mail on the internet is spam, so the internet should be shut down!

;)

The majority of people don't stop at stop signs. We should get rid of stop signs! *trollface*

No, actually, we should set up robot turrets to kill everybody that doesn't stop. >:(

IIRC, I read several years ago that running a stoplight in Bangkok resulted in beheading, and the head was added to the others in the wire basket hanging under the stoplight.

Anyone confused about what atrocities are happening in some countries should pay a visit to THEYNC.com, although, don't if you just ate breakfast.

You have too much time if you are worried about atrocities of another country. Either that or you are planning for a career in politics. My country has enough issues for me to worry about without worrying about the stupidity of another country.

Other countries have to worry about the stupid bills that you try to pass in the USA tho, apart from our own stupid problems. :-X

Because our government forces our laws on the world (why else do you think we are called the world police). As citizens though, I don't care what the government sets out to do because I will continue to do what I want to do. Also you don't have to worry about our stupid country bills because it is only in the US, I can't see them seriously going after any one (besides companies) pirating things. Your country would also have to either prosecute you in your country or agree to expedite you to the US, which again I can't see them doing. The bill will pass, eventually, and I just don't see anyone taking it serious unless a company like Mega* breaks it. Only advice I can give is don't pirate from premium sites. I use torrents from anonymous sites personally, though past year now I've not bothered with it because I prefer having the physical game or movie (seldom listen to music myself) in case my drive crashes so I don't have to sit through downloads every time.

And I prefer to have a backup drive. Optical disk swapping isn't fun.

@Specter: I don't really worry about pirating if the bill passes, because it won't stop it. :P But if I wanted to start up a website with user content available, I would have to implement the blacklisting policy for the sake of not being classified a foreign "rogue" website and get blacklisted just because someone posted a link. :-/

The definition is based on something as dumb as a domain name anyway, so I would probably be classified as a "domestic" site if I was under .net or .com. Still, I would require to blacklist any "rogue" website from being posted, and this is just extra cost. If there was copyrighted content because someone posted something, a notice to take it down would be better than the whole "blacklist teh criminal webzite!1!" the bill does.

Yeah, the sites I have done I never let user content get added. I only did it for myself. Down side was that I never had anything to put on it so I just took them down, but still own the domains for it.

The only reason to go to that site is if you like fapping, grotesque videos, or fapping to grotesque videos.

I was expecting something like people being tied to a stake in the desert and left to dehydrate.

Things like being boiled to death for speaking badly about tyrants.

My expectations weren't dashed though because I didn't look at the site :-X
