Just been reading about 1.8. Seems like a lot of good things coming (which really, will just bypass the need for some mods), but I wish they'd do more about adventuring under water. I wonder if you can swap your world between adventure and creative mode? Neil. wii:0356-1384-6687-2022, kart:3308-4806-6002. XBOX:chucklepie |

kdevil: There's a section of the nether, near where the town portal site is that blocks can be mined from, but nothing can be placed there. Is this a weird game glitch, or have you put some form of protection on it?

Sort of a glitch, I guess: apparently the basic Minecraft spawn protection was still active, and overriding WorldGuard. That should be fixed now. ----- |

Ah. It's not overly important, I was just trying to lay a torch trail as I went for glowstone. I ended up taking a different route.

My slime cave on the outskirts of town is now open for business: I already have almost 2 stacks of slimeballs. ----- |

Hint for hunting slimes: Kill them with a stone pick (or basically anything equally or less powerful than a stone pick). This way, they always break into the smallest forms (ie. you don't kill them in one hit), so you get a maximum number of slimeballs. --------- |

It would also help to make some jello shots with rum or vodka, just to make the game even more enjoyable.

I appear to be stuck in some limbo part of the Nether: {"name":"604824","src":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/f\/7f7555443221a07797f632bfa9d79c58.png","w":1280,"h":752,"tn":"\/\/djungxnpq2nug.cloudfront.net\/image\/cache\/7\/f\/7f7555443221a07797f632bfa9d79c58"} Any ideas?

Maybe you got above the ceiling somehow? --- |

Huh, were you near the top of the nether before? When I connected today I spawned about 20 tiles above where I was previously. Anyway, I'll get you back below ceiling just as soon as I figure out how to do that without erasing your inventory in the process. Update: OK, you should be at y=110 now. Hopefully that doesn't drop you into lava. ----- |

I probably was quite high to start with, yeah. I'll login again when I get home. edit: When I logged in, I was still at y = 129.

Yeah, and I just respawned on top of the mountain I was digging under. I think we're seeing this bug: The Minecraft Wiki said: When connecting to a server, the player's disconnect position may be changed or rounded. This can result in the player position moving vertically to the closest 1x1x2 open space directly above the rounded coordinates. OK, you should now be at y=70. If that doesn't work, I'll move you out of the nether altogether. ----- |

That worked. I had unfortunately moved around in the y=129 plane however, so I don't know where my last correct position was. Do you have the co-ordinates for the main portal in the nether, so I can tunnel my way back to there?

Yeah: the main portal's at about 20, 60, 20. ----- |

Server problems? edit: n/m it let me login after a while. edit 2: I think the server might need a restart. The lag is getting pretty bad again.

I really like the 1.8 trial. Brightness and FOV do nothing for me, but the rivers and villages are good. I flew down a river into a canyon/cave and out the other side and it was a beautiful thing Only problem is fps has dropped considerably even on my meagre settings. I can't remember the details, but threads were mentioned. edit: I'm back in the y=129 plane of the nether again. I'd forgotten exactly how it had happened last time, so got there the same way again. I'd tried to get on a minecart, but doing so had put me inside a wall. To avoid suffocation I disconnected in the hope that reconnecting would put me back where I had been before clicking on the minecart. No such luck.

I've been warped into rather random locations when "falling off" a minecart track. Middle of rock? Sure! Middle of lava? No problem!
