.... sky dimension? So, just, Y_PLAYFIELDMAX *= 2? I sincerely hope there's more to it ... though I wouldn't be opposed to a little more vertical space.

I think it's a gonna be a new dimension, like the Nether. See the screenshots and how liquids tend to just vanish suddenly at one point. It's probably something like the floating isles type of terrain in minecraft classic.

The nether doesn't even officially work in multiplayer, and he's going to layer more dimensions onto his already shitty system of handling them?

New features are fun. Bugfixing and refactoring your undoubtedly shitty codebase are not.

Yes, so let's keep piling new broken features on top of broken and flawed code that undoubtedly needs refactoring, if not large chunks rewritten. Just create a huge mass of broken code that will never be fixed!

Check out the station! It's almost finished, now all it needs it a place to go to! I guess I'll build a few more stations way far away to add more unexplored space.

I added a small station on the big sandy area to the north. Not really much, just tracks running through with stairs leading up. No tunnels leading away yet.

EDIT:

Also, I was thinking, if we're going to make an underground rail system, we should have a standardized depth for tunnels and stations.

Tried to log in, died instead. I really need to figure out why my connection from home is such ass when playing this game ...

I don't much care for standardizing that, actually. Some areas might merit an above-ground track for the view, for example. FWIW, the tracks I laid are at 62, and the layout is:

<incoming rail> <fence> <sidewalk> <sidewalk> <fence> <outgoing rail>

Who is this stephen walker? Try to build further out than actually on top of the marketplace roadway, ok?

I want to build one in the middle of my bay, after I build a glass dome over it :D it will look fucking awesome.

True. But I think having a standard would still be useful, even if certain areas merit breaking the standard. I prefer standards as a reference, not an absolute rule.

But if we don't want to do that, I'm cool with it. Just a suggestion.

I worry that a 4-block-high tunnel at depth 62 will intersect with some oceans, but that in itself might be cool.

If it does, put on a glass roof. Always looks cool.

It works for Microsoft.

You're comparing minecraft to Microsoft? Get real. I haven't had a single problem with Vista in the 3 years since I bought this laptop. Minecraft on the other hand suffers from disappearing blocks and shitty connections to the server. I'd take a Windows OS over minecraft anyday.

kdevil, you have an awesome pad. I defined a region so nobody can rob yo diamondz. If you suddenly can't build, let me know.

Maybe if Windows didn't suck so much, minecraft would be better. :-[

I think my exploring crashed the server. :(

I found a really massive desert, though. Can we get a map update? I'd like to see it.

I'll run an update tonight. It's a really heavy operation.

Yeah. I may have increased the map size by a significant percentage while exploring that desert. :-/
