@Neil: it's Minecraft Overviewer and I will be installing some add-ons as well in the future. kdevil said: Out of curiosity, how often does that map update? Exactly once every time I run the script. I haven't been able to connect for about a day or so. Can't wait until this thing is out of beta and actually consistently playable ----- |

I'm just building my own world. Too much hassle dealing with the internet. PS. |

Thats the funny part, if you're running it via your own server, you'll still see lag. I do on my own server over GbE. Its totally fucking stupid how bad the SMP code must really be. -- |

I don't see too much lag on my local server for the most part, which is very surprising to me. Usually Sevalecan is the only other person on there - maybe he'll chime in on the lag situation. |

I wouldn't say it was a super common thing. but it did happen a few times. -- |

This was Notch's fault: I forgot to restart the server after doing maintenance. -- Ryan Patterson - <http://cgamesplay.com/> |

Since I last logged in, my dogs are gone, a jack o lantern is beside my chest that had pumpkins in it and I don't have permission to edit anything in the place (Snowie0wl's dog house). Is this because of some immature kid? __________________________________ |

Last time I was there, your dogs were all inside, and I am absolutely certain I closed the door behind me. Unless the server didn't register that. --------- |

Is this because of some immature kid? I was playing with your area: I set up a region and defined you as the owner. After inspecting the logs, I spelled your name wrong. I set you as the proper owner now, which means you'll be the only person who can build in your area (it's slightly larger than your house, right click while holding spider silk for more info). As for the dogs, they were there when I last played with the server (last night). I don't know if dogs stay permanently, though. Also, the jack o lantern was there when I found it. -- Ryan Patterson - <http://cgamesplay.com/> |

Can people tell who owns what area and the size of said area? Without randomly trying to mine blocks? And can you see the outline of your own owned area? -- |

It's called WorldGuard, and it's pretty sweet. As far as an outline goes, there's a mod that puts this information on the online map, but I don't have it installed yet. -- Ryan Patterson - <http://cgamesplay.com/> |

Ah thanks, I was hoping it wasn't intentionally ruined. I knew my name would get me into trouble eventually with that zero. EDIT: Maybe they're new or thought it was all for public use. How odd. __________________________________ |

Weeee! We have a server up again, and I have free time. There's a nice big sandy spot right next to the sea. I think I'm gonna build some sort of port there, if that all right.

I might try tethering my girlfriend's MacBook to my phone later and see how well I can play that way.

I want to reserve a large chunk of ocean/lake. like 50x50. Some place thats at least 5-10 blocks deep. -- |

I would love to reserve a bit, 50-50 over an ocean as well. If the server actually cooperates I'll use it too. I couldn't find the boxes with the subsidized materials though; I only found tools. Sand/cobblestone/wood would be much appreciated if I'm going to copy my work on the old server ... REVISION: Found the raw materials shed. You might wanna refill a couple of these. -- |
