Am I the only one who is happy because I won weigh? O_O from 47 Kg last summer to 58 Kg now :D I eat [i]a lot[/i] now.

If you needed to use the bathroom (this apply to #2 or #1) dont hold it in.

Get into the gym and do weights. It worked for me while I actually did it.

Why is this constantly being recommended? If you're lifting weights you're probably looking to gain weight. If you want to lose weight then high cardio activities such as running or swimming are a lot more efficient. Yes you can lose weight by lifting weights, but if that's all you're planning on doing then it won't be the most effective method.

Perhaps the term "lose weight" should be replaced by "not be such a flabby slob"

I remember reading a short story back in the early '70's about a fat slob who made a deal with some sort of imp to lose weight, at the end of the story he was as rotund as ever, but bounced along the ceiling like a helium balloon, since the deal was to lose weight, not fat!

They all watch too much MSNBC... they get ideas.

@ Hard Rock: Weights seem a lot easier to get into rather than running, at least for me. I'm naturally big (as in, I was born fairly big and tall) and lagging my heavy ass around a track just puts me off from exercise.

I guess the best thing to do is something that truly interests you. Sports?

Running is a bad way to loose weight if you're (much) too heavy (but it's a good way to stay in shape) because it will mess up your knees. That's the problem with many of these type of exercise.
Pick up swimming instead.

Swimming is also good because you use more groups of muscles than you do with weights.

EDIT: cycling would also avoid the problem of screwing up your knees.
